Good drive but poor reliability

If you buy a SSD get one with at least a two year warranty.

Fast write even faster read; beats out all HDDs

Reliability - drive failed after 18 months. Warranty was only for one year

Review Update

This review is an update to the review I posted on 5/08, which was based on my out-of-the-box performance experience. I later found out that I needed to perform an alignment on the SSD in order to get optimal performance. Since I have done that, the...

Performance is now as expected

None, now

Simply Awesome!

Reliable......., error free. No need to do hocus pocus to get it to work! Just plain works and fast at that

Not what I expected!

It's too bad most other reviewers don't list what computer they installed this on. I installed it on an Asus EEE PC 1000H and the results were totally undesirable. It is fairly quick on small files, but devistatingly slow on large files. I have to say...

None, for my purposes

Boot drive for ESX

Don't forget a 2.5" to 3.5" mounting kit.

Great boot drive for ESX 3.5 server. Very fast. Small size is all you need when you have SAN storage for VMs. NewEgg's order processing and shipping is very fast and they keep you informed via e-mail every step of the way

Great product so far...

This is my first ssd, i was hoping to experience a stutter because i was curious what it was, but...... i didn't notice any with windows 7. I ran anti-virus scans, mas instant messaging, and etc, i didn't really notice it.

Fast Reads ; 140ish reads avg ; Decent writes ; 80ish writes avg ; With the update that was released on 3/20 by supertalent, and using windows 7 build 7100, i have not noticed any stutter ; restarts my laptop in 1 min and like 20 seconds, and probably...

The heat generation is about the same as a 5400rpm hdd, well from my perspective ; update the firmware before u install anything on the hard drive. the firmware update will removed all data ; the firmware update is kinda hard if u don't know how to...

Fast and Solid

Running in a boatPC. I am running XP embedded with enhanced write filter enabled. The drive is screaming fast with this configuration. To the guy running SSD's as a scratch volume - why oh why? SSD's are not designed or optimized for heavy write cycles...

No moving parts, lightweight, low power draw, fast read/write for flash, Sata interface, standard 2.5" form factor, Nice looking enclosure. Works very well, I am happy with the purchase

None so far, No stuttering here, has been working flawless

Worth the MTBF and drop security

I put this in a new Lenovo S10. did not even fire up the HDD it came with. I imaged the old one, coppied it to the new one, Partitioned down the hidden drive to 4gb. When I Fired it up I did all the updates and then Changed the partition into a NTFS.

MTBF is outstanding for laptop or netbook usage. Reads from the disk are a little faster than a HQ 7200rpm drive.

Write's are about as slow as a 5200rpm drive.

SSD virgin is very happy

I can't wait for prices to drop a bit more so I can get an SSD in ALL MY COMPUTERS. These things are great.

Installation was perfect. speed is amazing. battery life is increased. Silent. Laptop runs cooler now

cost per Gig but that keeps getting better all the time
