Consumer review (newegg.com)

Absolutely horrible customer service.

none

Sent in two FTM64GX25H for RMA on 11/18/2010 received items back on Dec 3rd however they were still defective. Was told I needed to speak with an engineer (very helpful guy) he asks me to send the two drive back to him and that I should send them to...

Fast

I have been using this drive for since august and the speeds have not slowed at all. Avg write speeds of 210. Supports trim command, cheap for its performance

Need more drives

1711 firware. Beware!

Really fast. Not like most Vertex products

This drive comes with 1711 firmware. That means it is USELESS is you planning to install Windows 7 on it. After two days of BSODs and thousands orphan files durinf chkdsk I finaly decided to ggogle whats wrong with it. And it arreared to be a well...

Fast but bad blocks within 24 hours

Stuff happens with technology...

Brought an old P4/2GB system up to a very decent speed with Windows 7

Bad blocks recorded in Event Log after 24 hours - BSOD's starting to mount up, have to RMA this but willing to try another one based on positive feedback here

What a deal!!!

I already had the 32gig model of this drive and was thoroughly impressed so when I noticed this SSD in the shell-shocker deal for 139.99 I knew it was a steal. My only regret is that I didn't buy more of them!!!!!!

High read and write speed paired with low heat and low power usage. Boot times and shutdown times are phenomenal and game loading times were at least halved

Are you kidding

Insanely Fast.

AMD Phenom II x3 720 Super Talent MLC 64gb 500 gb WD Black Radeon HD 4850 I am an Insane fan of Newegg. Extremely Good customer service, quick and fast shipping, Wide selection for the lowest price. Newegg recieves 6 eggs.

Insanely Fast ; This thing can easily beat out two velociraptors in raid0 ; Access time is ridiculous, at 0.1 seconds ; (Windows 7) ; Startup: 23 seconds ; Shutdown: 3 seconds ; The box it came in looks like a book, and has a magnetic flap. first time...

Firmware updating is a HUGE hassle. Super Talent gives you Hardly a clue on how to update via USB boot ; The top of the SSD is bare black, no Super Talent logo ; Windows 7 took about the same amount of time to format than a disk HDD ; 1 egg for these

Not for Lenovo 61 series or older

This is becoming a known issue with these model laptops and is no fault of the drive itself. It's still probably twice as fast as a regular drive though. Windows 7 installed from a USB flash drive to this drive in 15 min flat.

The drive itself is great, fast and was a pretty acceptable price when on sale

Lenovo ThinkPad T/R/X 61 series laptops and older have their SATA II controller throttled down to SATA I speeds. The fastest this drive can run in these laptops is 140MBS

Not impressed

I was looking forward to trying out a SSD. I did my research and was prepared for weird window experiences, special adjustments for SSD optimizations, how to deal with potential slow downs, etc. I have never experience something like this that was...

Good sale price from Newegg, fast shipping

I had enough time to install windows and updates before it started causing a short and turning my system off. I can only assume it was the drive since I could not keep the system on long enough to change the boot drive. It would turn off within 30...

Speed Incarnate

I haven't tried the new 1711 firmware yet so I don't know how well it works. Speed when new was 220 MB/s read and 150 MB/s write average. It has decreased some with use. RAID 0 works but performance doesn't seem to scale as well as hard disks probably...

Good performance so far. Noticeable improvement from 2x500GB RAID 0. Much faster when doing more than one task at a time and loading large files ; New firmware supports ATA8 ACS2 TRIM ; Cool, quiet, small, low power consumption. Sub ms access times....

One drive disappears sometimes at boot. I don't know if it's the drive, the cable, or the Icy Dock causing this. Performance decreases with use. A pain to update firmware with DOS boot disc and destruction of data
