Audioengine AW1

If you are looking to setup a wireless solution for streaming your music, it is very easy to get overwhelmed – there's the Slingbox, the Apple AirPort Express, and numerous other offerings from companies like Linksys, Creative and Logitech. Not sure...

Excellent sound quality, simple setup and operation, no lag time or drops/interference in playback, works with a wide variety of audio devices

Pricey compared to other wireless music options, could use another USB AC adapter or possibility for battery power

The $149 MSRP price tag might seem a bit high to some, but there’s no doubt that you are getting a lot of bang for your buck with the AW1.

Review: Audioengine W1 Wireless Audio Adapter

Audioengine's W1 is an easy-to-use way to get audio from one part of your house to another—without cables and without piggybacking on your wireless network.

Easy to set up; good range; good sound; provides uninterrupted audio output to remote speakers

Can transmit to only one receiver at a time; no digital audio output

The W1 is made up of two USB modules—a transmitter (called a “Sender” by Audioengine) and a receiver. In addition to bearing a male USB connector, each module has a mini-plug jack—the Sender uses this jack for audio input and the receiver uses its for...

Audioengine W1 review

An easy, effective way of wirelessly streaming music to Audioengine active speakers.

Very little effect on audio quality ; great range ; can be used with a variety of other equipment

Expensive considering the price of company's speaker range ; looks untidy plugged into the top of the A5s

The W1 is an admirably audio-friendly wireless solution, but it could be cheaper and neater

As advertised and then some

After researching this product, I wasn't necessarily surprised at its ease of use or great performance. What was surprising though was that it configures as a USB Sound Card, which either I missed in the descriptions or isn't stated. This means that...

Dose what it was designed to do

Works great except if you are using a wireless mouse. The signal slows the mouse response time.

DOESN'T WORK

Unit does not work as advertised. It is subject to drop-offs and interference from neighbors WIFI transmissions. As such the unit is unusable to send Internet Music from my PC to my Audio Receiver not more than 30 feet away in another room. I will...
