Blue Aura X30 review: The little speaker that (almost) could

The Blue Aura X30 is a compact pair of desktop wireless speakers that has a nice faux leather finish, but does it sound as good as it looks? We put it to the test to find out.

Overall finish feels premium ; Sound quality in the mid-range is good ; Small size makes it easy to place anywhere ; Good wired and wireless connectivity

Bass could be punchier and extend lower ; Trebles need more ring

Blue Aura X30

Spice up TV sound with Blue Aura's striking Bluetooth speaker system

Superb build quality and stylish looks ; Assured sonic performance ; Generous connections

Expensive ; Some may crave more bass

Each speaker features a 3.5in paper cone and ferrite magnet, with a 20mm soft dome tweeter on high-frequency duty. Quoted frequency range is 55Hz-22kHz. A Class D amplifier inside the right speaker supplies 25W of power.

Blue Aura X30

Blue Aura got it half right: great size and features, but the sound isn't the best

Pleasant listen ; Decent, smooth treble ; Petite size ; Good build and finish ; Easy to use

Sound could be cleaner, subtler and more organised ; Needs a tauter, punchier bass

Pleasant as they are, the Blue Aura X30 speakers aren’t the subtlest or most involving listen. The similarly petite Audio Pro Addon T8s deliver a clearer, livelier sound, and cost £40 less than the Blue Auras’ £290.
