Blose

I didn't purchase these speakers from Newegg, but I felt compelled to write a review. This is not a bad system, but don't waste $400 on it. There are many speakers that sound as good or better for less than half the price. I returned the Companion 5...

Decent sound and style

Price, price, price. They are worth maybe half

The best computer speakers I have ever owned.

These speakers aren't for everyone. Invest the money if quality sound is what you are after. The are simply the best on the market for computers. The person who brought up the ridiculously outdated saying of "No highs, no lows, it must be Bose" hasn't...

Nothing any vendor had to offer came close to the sound from these speakers and I had the Logitech 5.1 for years prior to buying the Bose. I have had them about 8 months and every time I listen to music, these speakers are outstanding. All of the other...

No highs, no lows, it has to be Bose

I returned these after being disappointed and picked up the Logitech Z-2300's. I think the Logitech Z-2300 speakers sound much better than the Bose Companion 5. They accentuate mids and highs better, and they have much deeper punchier bass. Vocals...

They look good and sound ok

Price. These speakers are not worth anywhere near their $400 price tag. You are paying for the name like with all Bose speakers. The sub also sounds muddy. These speakers should be in the $150 price range at max

Absolutely AMAZING!!

Bose is a brand as you can see from other reviews is very expensive. They are worth it for some things, and not for others. This is a system that I did my research for, and decided it was the best that suited my needs. I noticed some people were...

These speakers are what desktop sound is supposed to be! Crisp, clean, and excellent for music and movie use. Bose is a brand that has never dissapointed me in the past, and they continue to impress! Impressive bass response for such a small module

The only thing I can see as a con here would be the price of the system. Yes it is a little pricey, and it will be something you have to save your pennies for. The bass module is small and delivers good bass response, but it certainly could get better....

Stop complaining

People, please stop complaining about these not being a true 5.1. Duh, its only two speakers! The reason I like this set is its portability. It gets close enough to 5.1 with only two speakers, meaning when I go to LAN parties, I only have two speakers,...

Still kicking, even with how hard I push them! Recently went for about 26 hours straight at another LAN party with a few pauses, no problem. Only difference this time is we decided to see what would happen if we put a 120mm fan at the rear of the sub,...

Not THX certified, but that wound raise the price another $100. Bose should have added a quiet 120mm fan to the back of the sub to supplement cooling. Right now, its cooling on the fact that hot air rises

Bose® 40326 Companion® 5 multimedia speaker system - Retail

Bose is a premium brand and it is marketed that way. Please compare other speakers before buying this one unless you are rich and don't care about cost. There are quite a few capable PC speakers out there that meet the level of Bose Companion 5 for...

Capable" bass, less wiring, and speakers look pretty. Overall, they're nice speakers for your laptop or desktop PC

Not true surround sound as advertised. You're suppose to put all three speakers at roughly the same level with each other. Although they can sound spectacular at times when watching movies, the Boston Acoustics speaker system can pretty much do the...

Works superbly

My machine: GeForce 8600 GTS x2 SLI, Intel 8400 Dual Core 3.0 GHz (overclocked to 3.4 GHz), 4GB Corsair Dominator, Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

These speakers are the best I have come across in a long while. I previously had some Logitechs that worked fine, but the ceased to meet my needs. I love the full sound. I like the little mute button on the volume control

A Winner

The sound from these speakers are excellent. No hassle installation, just plug into your USB

Price-these are high price speakers and lack the surround sound effect that gamers prefer

Great

If you don't have a sound card this is ideal. Also you save money because you don't need a sound card.

Great sound, its deep with bass. Sounds similar to a 5.1 speaker system, and it is 2.1. A big advantage is that no sound card is needed and it is usb. I saved the price of a soundcard and also was able to get a cheaper motherboard without onboard...

Expensive. The subwoofer is very long and hard to fit on my desk
