These are exactly what I was looking for. Simple enough for the MP3 player, sound OK, even used them in the car!! Greatly improves sound on the Notebook as well. ust ordered another pair for a friend who loved mine so much he tried to walk off with them

Of course these are not the super frequency response mega excellent sound speakers, but you get what you paid for. If they sound good enough on the dash of the 91 Ford Festiva, they sound good anywhere...That's good enough for me, they make the laptop...

Some of the worst speakers I have ever heard acoustically. Way, way better than laptop speakers, but still worse than 6" tall standup computer speakers ; Pop-up "bass mode" is a joke and gimmick, doesn't seem to change acoustics or speaker properties...
