KEF Xio Review: So Good, So Expensive

At $2,500, it's one of the priciest soundbars you can buy, but for those who need the simplicity of an all-in-one design, it's also one of the best.

Incredible scale and volume. Immersive, with effective sound placement. Rich bass response from all-in-one design. Refined music performance. Easy setup.

Undeniably very expensive. Needs large TV stand to accommodate it. Only one HDMI. Extending the setup wirelessly requires adapter at (another) additional cost.

KEF XIO: Lab Tested - RTINGS.com

The KEF XIO soundbar is great for watching dialogue-heavy content like TV shows. Its flat mids and treble ensure voices sound accurate and true-to-life, though the boosted high bass can make deeper voices sound a bit boomy. There's a Dialogue Mode to...

Gets loud with minimal compression, remarkably low latency via earc, stylish, all-in-one design, atmos drivers offer a believable sense of height

No traditional room correction, no satellites means limited immersion, lack of a dedicated subwoofer means low bass is a touch quiet

Spacious, detailed and controlled sound ; Substantial low-frequency presence ; Adept with music

No HDMI pass-through ; Pricey and then some ; Remote control could be more responsive

If I hadn’t heard it myself, I’d think there’s no way a £2K soundbar with no HDMI pass-through could get within a mile of a five-star review – and yet the KEF XIO only misses out by a whisker. Which should tell you everything you need to know about the...
