Libratone Live

The very pricey Libratone Live speaker offers generally high-quality audio performance, but its stunning, unique look was clearly the top design priority.

Striking design with cashmere wool cover. Powerful audio output with clear definition at moderate volumes. Streams audio wirelessly via Apple's AirPlay.

Extremely expensive. At top volumes, some deep bass tracks distort. No Volume, Mute, navigation controls on unit.

Too Apple centric which leaves Windows user in a bit of a disadvantage

This $899 hi-fi speaker is wrapped in wool, hiding some excellent sound quality

Excellent sound quality ; Somewhat portable

No internal battery ; Minor EQ adjustment ; No external volume control

Libratone's Live AirPlay wireless speaker is an exceedingly simple, exceptionally good-looking product. It's well suited to Apple's idiot-proof wireless music streaming system, too, being controlled entirely remotely.
