Sonos Sub Review

Sonos has slowly built an empire of loyal users who not only value the quality of the company's wireless speaker lineup, but the ease of use of the system as a whole. For many of these people, the Sonos Sub represents the last piece of the puzzle—you...

Powerful, thunderous bass at highest levels. Subtle low-frequency anchoring at more modest volumes. User-controllable bass levels. Attractive design. Can sit vertically or be laid flat. Easy integration into existing Sonos systems.

Expensive. Large. Only works with Sonos speakers, cannot be physically connected to a subwoofer output.

The Sonos Sub, an expensive wireless subwoofer that's easy to adjust via app, isn't how you start a Sonos system, but it's a terrific addition to complete one.

Review: Sonos Sub (Gen 3) | Twice As Much Sonos Bass Sonos Sub (Gen 3)

Sonos Sub is back in the third generation, now with the option of using two subwoofers in the same room. We have tested!

Sonos Sub is a hard-hitting upgrade to your existing Sonos system. By connecting two subwoofers, you can also achieve even more potent and precise bass.

The Sonos sub is easy to set up, but could have had even more adjustment options. The sound is not significantly better than the previous generation.

The Sonos Sub is the logical (as it were, also the only) choice for Sonos owners who want real deep bass in their setup. Whether you have a soundbar like Playbar, Arc or Beam, or play music via a pair of Sonos Five or One, it is a natural companion.

Sonos Sub review: All about that bass

Sonos launched its wireless subwoofer - the Sonos Sub - way back in 2012. It was originally designed to fit into any room, promising to instantly boost the performance of the company's range of multi-room speakers, which back then consisted of only the...

Great bass Lovely design Easy setup Trueplay compatible Excellent addition to a Sonos system

Big Expensive Will be too loud or too much for some

The Sonos Sub sounds great, offering plenty of bass, and if you are happy to turn the levels up, tooth-rattling amounts of noise. It isn't for everyone, nor will it be necessary for everyone, but the Sonos Sub is a device that is all about sound and...

Rumble god

You need to understand the difference between bass and sub bass, the beam on its own sounds to have lots of bass, its only when you pair the sub do hear what is missing, not so much bass but a rumble you can feel.

Fantastic Sound

We bought a pair of Sonos 5s and a Sub to go in our kitchen. Although this is a large room 32'x16' the speakers effortlessly fill it with warm rich sound. Was relatively straight forward to set up, once I had worked out that I needed to turn off my...

Incredible improvement

After contemplating adding the sub to the Sonos system or whether to install a wired system eventually took the plunge and I have to say the difference is incredible. Levels of adjustment and tuning aren't amazing but the simplicity is excellent.
