Vizio VHT510 review: Vizio VHT510

Vizio VHT510

The ; has outstanding sound quality for a budget sound bar system, including rear speakers that deliver a true surround-sound experience. The system also includes a wireless subwoofer and the best remote we've seen on a sound bar.

The front-panel lights often break, according to widespread online reviews, although Vizio says the issue has been fixed. The VHT510's rear speakers also add complexity that style-oriented buyers might not want. And connectivity options are limited,...

While we'd prefer more input options, the Vizio VHT510 adds rear speakers to the traditional sound bar design, resulting in outstanding sound quality at a very affordable price.

Vizio VHT510 Surround Sound Home Theater With Wireless Subwoofer

If you want true 5.1-channel sound without stacking speakers around your HDTV or running cables across the living room, Vizio's VHT510 Surround Sound Home Theater With Wireless Subwoofer is a top choice.

Real surround sound. Solid power from the subwoofer.

No 3.5-mm input. Slightly low mid-range-bass crossover setting.

Among the current crop of sound bar sound systems, Vizio's VHT510 stands as one of only a few that offers real surround sound and not merely acoustic reflection. At less than $400, that alone makes it a compelling choice, improved by the fact that it...

Sound-bar/home theater hybrid

The Vizio VHT510 sound bar speaker system tackles a major complaint leveled against sound bars head on: that the simulated surround sound offered by 2.1-channel sound bars simply can't offer the same all-encompassing audio experience as a true...

Sounds great, true 5.1 surround sound, wireless subwoofer, easy setup, relatively low price

Lack of inputs, extra speakers may turn off some people, needs occasional sound tweaking, might not be powerful enough for larger rooms, issues with LED display

VIZIO VHT510 Wireless Home Theater SystemReview

VIZIO steps up to the bar with this powered soundbar with wireless subwoofer and rear speakers for simple yet discrete 5.1 channel surround.

The best sound you can get for a home theater system or media center comes from piecing together a component system: an A/V receiver or preamp/amp combo and separate speakers. But putting together such a system can be a daunting task, not to mention an...

Overall Great Product with Poor Reliability

I bought my VHT510 after the initial wave of bad news about failing displays so I figured my unit was not affected. However, after four years the lower portion of the display stopped working but that was minor so I kept using it. However, not soon...

Great Surround Sound but stop working

I sold my Onkyo HT System because my wife HATES all the wires and what not. So when I found this Visio system @ Costco, I was super happy. It was about $300 inc. taxes. I set up this system in no time. I was very satisfy with this system until those...

Vizio Surround Sound Systems

Overall it's not bad for the price paid but I would have hoped it would last longer because I like the sound and I like the system. With VIZIO's name being mentioned as one of the better brands to buy in the last couple of years I would have thought...

I like the sound of the system it's really quite good. If you have a good ear you can really balance it to hear a pin drop on the left while the person talking on the right stays on the right! It's easy on the speaker placement. The system itself was...

However with the speaker placement, the cords from the satellite speakers to the sub woofer are too short for my taste. So you would either have to cut and splice more wire for greater separation or live with what they give you. I also previously owned...

received 2 defective units

before you buy this item as refurbished, research alternatives any maybe go with those. i will not buy vizio in the future
