great tv, setup time a little long

You could buy 2 of this TV for the price you would normally pay for a highend 40 inch hdtv lcd and get ripped off. I am very pleased with this purchase, I just hope no defects come out of hiding soon...

This tv has a great picture and tons of features to adjust it. It is a refurb, but i have not run into a problem yet...I have only owned it for a day, but it seems like a solid product. I can't believe I was able to get this tv for so little ; The...

The remote is a little bulky and you have to program it before using it. I thought it didn't work at first and was about to throw it out the window. Mak sure you read the remote programming instructions ;)My code was 0001. The tv puts off some heat and...

Outstanding!!

As long as the reliability holds, I won't regret the purchase. After a bit of tweaking, the picture is outstanding. Sports broadcasts in HD were "glinty" until I reduced the contrast and sharpness substantially, to about 40. I used the THX Optimizer on...

great picture, handsome design, strong value

suspect packaging, remote buttons feel unrefined, manual in pdf format. unproven reliability

TV review

I upgraded from a 51" CRT Sony HDTV to this LCD. I really like HD channels but sports are tough to watch. There's a lot of ghosting going on. I haven't watched any big action fliks on it yet since the furniture hasn't arrived and my sorround isn't...

The price. Simple! For a tv this size NewEgg dropped the price to sub 900 and I couldn't pass it up. It has all of the inputs you need. Removable speakers for wall mounting is very nice

It's not the thinnest LCD I've ever seen. It may be 3-4 inches thick which surprised me. The remote looks like something from 70's Star Trek rejection pile. It does work fine though and who uses the remote with the TV anyway? It's a little dark...

Very Nice PQ

This TV is also used for xbox. 480p looks very good as well. I have not tried PC games, but suspect they would look good as well. Great buy!

For the money, this TV delivers the best PQ I have seen. Thru HTPC, DVI to HDMI 1080i is spectaclular. Over the air HD is awesome

None that have surfaced. The remote is ok and is better than a more costly HDTV I recently purchased

OLEVIA 40" LCD TV With ATSC Tuner 540I

First, after connecting to Comcast receiver, all SD channels shows were blocky and pixelated - appears default output on my Motorola 6412 DVR is 1080i. After switching it to 720p everything is nice now.

Happy with the general picture quality - 720p is sharp and crisp. Works perfectly as xbox 360 monitor. Speakers can be removed for wall mounting

Like all other reviews mention, remote is bad ; Nonupgradable firmware - would like to get rid of the bug with sharpness settings not saving for second component input. OSM in general has pretty slow response

Looks good

So far I'm very happy with this TV. I never could have found a better deal, and I looked hard!

I've just hooked up 480I & 480P so far as I don't have my Dish-HD box yet, but it looks fine with both

I'll agree with the old-looking remote, but really - who cares

Simply put - amazing!

I never thought I would enjoy my TV this much. The black-to-black levels are good (not excellent, but good). It is extremely heavy to lift when setting up a wall mount. Definitely a good buy.

Simple to set up, amazing picture clarity and brightness. HD 720p images are incredible and razor sharp. included speakers are fair quality

As is usual, the remote is pretty bad, but only used it for initial setup. Some 480i/480p shows come out pixelated

What you see is what you get . . .

This unit is best used as a bedroom TV or an entry level theater monitor.

Inexpensive. Very flexible with virtually every conceivable type of input (for TV). Side panel allows for easy connections

Remote control is awful, it is a challenge to figure out where buttons are and what they do. Very basic monitor - nothing overly special. Hard to find information from manufacturer. Almost as if the product never existed (part number doesnt match)

HD lovers

If you are looking for a DVR say with Snapstream media this is the TV you need.

I have had this TV for about three weeks and it is working well. Great picture both Norm and HD. It has the right inputs and outputs. I called the company before I got it just to see how well they responded and how much they could tell me about it. I...

There was a small dent on the side but not an issue for me

Great Value - Olevia Syntax 540I

HIGHLY recommend this for HD and progressive scan DVDs. Not 1080P, but for the price, who can complain? I am considering buying another one to go in my bedroom. What a deal

Very clear, bright, CRISP, amazing picture, especially for the price. No dead pixels. Better than the Sony we saw at C***co for almost $1k more. HIGHLY recommend. Plus, Newegg shipping and customer service is excellent
