Nicely styled budget big screen let down by poor pictures and sound

Price ; Full HD resolution ; Plenty of connectivity ; Integrated digital terrestrial tuner

Mediocre picture and sound ; Digital tuner less than satisfactory ; Ineffective energy-saving mode

A budget of £400 typically buys you a 26 or 32-inch LCD TV from one of major manufacturers. All credit to Hannspree, then, which has managed to deliver a fully blown 42-in, full HD set at this price.

Not bad! Even better - great!

 

I didn't give it 5 eggs because: - I've had the TV/monitor for about a week only - I have no base for comparison (have to leave some egg room for the Sony mates... they charge 3x or 4x more :-) ) - the sub-performing VGA mentioned in Cons I am watching...

I have no base for comparison with other TVs ; but I can definitely give 5 eggs for VALUE - look at characteristics, then look at the "recertified" price

Sub-performance as computer monitor via VGA at max res. - "waves" travel through the screen when you get close enough to see them - I contribute this to electrical interference and will not take any eggs away because A) can't notice it from two feet...

Thought it wouldn't happen to me

 

The above comments are not for a refurbished, but a NEW unit. Read many other complaints just like it. Took it back after 2 weeks, can't get any peaceful watching done. I know it's an inexpensive tv, but it should at least stay on the channel and input.

Nice picture, cheap (but you'll end up buying a more expensive one and feeling better about it)

This tv takes on a life of its own. Starts flipping from AV to TV to HDMI, then starts scanning channels by itself. I thought it might be a sticking remote button, so I took the batteries out and continued scanning by itself for at least 20 mins. Turn...

Decent TV for the Price

 

I bought this TV a year ago from a different retailer. I haven't had any problems with my unit. It works great, I actually ended up producing my own Samsung label to slap over the HannsPree label in the front. When we have company over every exclaims...

Cheap ; Sharp & Clear Picture ; Full HD 1080P ; 4.5MS ; 120HZ ; 4xHDMI, VGA/DSUB ; Decent Menu & Picture options

Audio is pretty bad, but usable if you have to ; There are two separate signals sent/received for the on & off function from the remote to the TV. So if you program this with a universal remote you will only be able to turn it off with the Univ Remote....

Extremely clear picture, Lots of HDMI ports, and an incredible price . Shipping is a bit high. It has vivid motion . The neck of the TV also swivels, and it's a very attractive piece of electronics

this tv has a horrible heat sync that will cause your tv to blink. I've had two of these exact tvs that blinked and just turned completely black. My tv is in for repairs now and ill wait to see how it turns out
