Hitachi 42PD8900TA

A well built plasma with excellent picture quality but lacking several features that should be standard in this price range.

Dual analog tuners ; Excellent image quality ; Twin HDMI inputs

Doesn't support full 1080i ; Lacks built-in HD tuner ; Not much improvement over cheaper 42PD8800TA model

The 8900 is a v/good plasma TV. The colour rendition coupled with superb brightness and clarity gives this TV an edge on others in its class. Yes the "rich depth for colours" is quite stunning. Only the Pioneer is on a par.. IMHO.. but due to the Pio's...

Stylish looks ; Quality build ; motorised swivel stand ; superb picture quality ; One button remote selection for 8 AVs ; numerous anti-image retention features ; Huge amount of PQ calibration adjustment features ; great onboard audio - 10 speakers- 2...

No Majors cons I can list.. perhaps a littlenoise in SD signals..but most of this is due to poor qualitysignal feed ; The biggest CON is.. CNET's comment that " this TV is lacking several features that should be standard in this price range ; OK CNET.....

Think again before buying plasma.

Excellent visual and sound quality while it lasted

Six months out of warranty, a black line appeared 1/3 of the way from the right side of the screen. Line came and went ; Repairman says it's leaking plasma ; 1K worth...hmmm...sounds better to buy a new TV and consider the two year old Hitachi...

"Was aroused as soon as I opened the box"

Its the 8800 but improved. I had the 8800 and was fortunate enough to have it dropped by the delivery people, fortunate becuase the warranty was still valid and it was the last one in stock (shop withheld as it was not there fault) after many furious...

Arousal continued after it was set up

Im still aroused - a little embarrasing in public
