This TV is a good buy for the very reasonable asking price. However, too many other sets offer far more in the way of quality

Motorised stand and front HDMI socket; stable picture, with little in the way of unsightly noise; the price

Only one HDMI on the back; poor black levels for a plasma; picture can look dull compared to competition

Hitachi P42T01

 

Spotted selling online for about £750, this is one of the UK's most affordable plasmas. That's hardly a shock coming from Hitachi, a company that has made its name offering low prices and high quality

Excellent price, Good connectivity provided, Sleek and well designed

Picture noise with standard definition, Disappointing black levels, Some issues with skin tones

Although this 42in plasma TV is big on features and small on price, average picture quality really lets the side down
