The £800 JVC LT-26DX7 makes a perfect second TV in any room

Excellent DiST picture processing ; Superb audio

Black levels good but not great

A TV that's not just great in the bedroom, but anywhere else you choose to put it

JVC LT-26DX7BJ

JVC's LT-26DX7BJ starts badly by being very expensive. This places an immediate burden on it to deliver something more than its rivals - a burden it carries well, thanks to a truly impressive set of features.

Awesome colour performance, Great soundstage

Smearing and blur over motion, More expensive than the competition, Forgettable dark performance

A good image performance but at this price it should perform better

JVC LT-26DX7

At ?900 the 26DX7 is comfortably the most expensive TV in this group test. But then it does rest towards the top of JVC's current LCD range - a fact that will hopefully be reflected in its features and performance.

Stunning image quality with bright, static sources; good features count and connectivity

Not cheap, and problems occur in the image with dark and/or fast-moving footage
