LG 42LV550T

LG's 42in 42LV550T TV might not have 3D, but it's got plenty else to talk about - not least its sub £600 price tag.

Low cost for a large telly ; good operating system and multimedia support ; Punchy pictures

Black level difficulties ; one-dimensional sound ; apps system feels a little childish

We’re not done with the LAN socket yet, as it happens, for it has a third use: as mandatory support for a built-in Freeview HD tuner. This tuner alone would be enough to justify the mere few quid the 42LV550T now costs over and above the 42LV450U, even...

LG 32LV550T

LG's 32LV550T does a damn fine job of reminding us what sort of TV bargains there are to be had right now if you're willing to forgo 3D.

Superb value for money ; Excellent multimedia features ; Good picture quality

Sound quality is rather weak ; Too many pointless apps ; Standard def images could be crisper

Even had it carried a price tag of £650 to £700 we’d have found much to admire about the 32LV550T. So given that we’ve found it selling for under £500, it’s fair to say that it's another one of those classic budget heroes that have served LG so well...

LG 42LV550T review

It might not have 3D, but this 42-inch LG TV still has plenty going for it

Bright, colourful pictures ; Nice design ; Reasonably aggressive price ; Good operating system and multimedia system

Black levels are flawed ; Apps store is cluttered ; Audio lacks bass

Although LG's passive 3D system has comprehensively proven its worth, at least where relatively compact screen sizes are concerned, it still comes as a slight relief to find that the brand's 42LV550T doesn't have 3D built in. It means there's no need...

LG 32LV550T review

If you're after everything a 2011 TV can give you, bar 3D, give the LG 32LV550T a look

Promises much and delivers the goods ; excellent picture ; solid smart TV offering

Sound could be better ; no 3D

Packing plenty of features and quality in to an affordable package, this LG represents superb value for money

LG 32LV550T review

Impressive mid-range TV with bags of features and enjoyably cinematic 2D performance

Excellent value ; Very good post-calibration pictures ; Expansive online and multimedia features ; Excellent operating system

Numerous pointless apps in Smart TV ; Weak audio ; Slightly soft standard-def images

Don't be fooled by the lack of 3D, the 32-inch 32LV550T is very well specified indeed for a £600 TV.

LG 42LV550T review

The LG42LV550T is a fairly cheap and relatively cheerful 42in flatscreen

Price ; reasonably detailed off-air and HD pictures ; Smart TV portal is a tidy proposition

Shimmer and motion issues ; colours could be better judged ; average sound

A somber-looking set matched by a rather average picture performance

V happy so far. Have not tried out all its features yet. Found the instruction book a bit hard to fathom but got there.

LG 32LV550T

This product has a lot of apps already waiting to be used and allows you to add more. There are also a selection of sockets that allows you to plug in other compatible machinery.

This only applies if you are just entering into getting to grips with all this new technology it can be a head long plunge and a lot of flaffing around to do somethink which is quite simple; otherwise you will get there in the end.
