LG 42LB1DRA

LG outfits its slick new 42-inch TV with an integrated DVR.

Integrated HD DVR. Swivel table stand. Quality remote control.

High black levels (poor image contrast). Ineffective advanced color controls. Slight banding noted in fine gradients. DVR does not support HDMI or component video sources.

turning on the tv for the first time, i was greeted by a setup screen that gave me the option to configure the tv guide-based electronic programming guide (epg). tv guide's wonderful epg provides a familiar grid-style layout that makes it easy to...

LG 42LB1DR review: LG 42LB1DR

Although we like the idea of a built-in DVR, we were disappointed by the 42-inch LG 42LB1DR's overall picture quality and single-tuner DVR.

Includes built-in DVR with CableCard slot; relatively accurate color; well-integrated DVR menu system; slick looks, with included swivel stand.

DVR can record only one HD show at once; display reproduces light color of black; screen is less uniform than most LCDs; image washes out from off-angle; some flicker with 1080i sources; side-mounted speakers increase width.

While the 42-inch LG 42LB1DR's unique built-in DVR will appeal to those who want to ditch the cable box, its disappointing picture quality and single-tuner DVR limit its appeal.

Test Bench: LG 47LB1DA 47-inch LCD HDTV

Color-decoder tests revealed a +10% red error for both the HDMI and component-video inputs. The set's HDTV color points, meanwhile, were very accurate.

LG Electronics 47LB1DA Flat Panel:First Look

We don't have all the details on this LCD flat panel, but one thing that's apparent is that it's a premium 47" LCD set with full 1080p resolution for a pretty attractive price of just under $4K. We know it has OTA and cableCARD HD tuners and dual HDMI...

LG Electronics 47LB1DA LCD: Coming Attraction

While the press release disseminated from LG's late July line show didn't provide all the details we saw enough- the 47LB1DA looks like a premium 47" LCD with full 1080p resolution. We know it boasts integrated OTA and cableCARD HD tuners with dual...

LG Electronics 42LB1DR LCD HDTV

Introduction The old saying is true: There's no such thing as a free lunch … or a free DVR. Okay, maybe I added that last part, but it's worth mentioning. In one way or another, you will pay for the wonderful convenience of time-shifting, be it a lump...

LG 37LB1DB review

Good looking and cheap - sounds good to us

Good overall hi-def performance ; Impressive value for money

Disappointing standard-def images ; Unexceptional sound

It doesn't have class-leading performance, but at its price point you won't get much better

LG 37LB1DB

Plenty of its rivals have their charms, admittedly, but this LG is the supermodel of the pack. It's partly because of the glamour of its high-gloss finish, partly because of the eye-catching 'block' stand connection
