The best smart TV system around at the lowest price yet

Superb smart TV system ; Bright, colourful content looks great ; Lovely design

Numerous contrast problems ; Input lag too high for gaming ; Some localised crosstalk issues with 3D

One final word on set up has to go to the Bean Bird. This new animated character has been introduced by LG to help make its TVs’ initial set up procedures more fun and welcoming, and actually it works very well in keeping you engaged throughout even...

A fine screen, but the stunning WebOS interface is the real star

Rich, punchy hues Crisp, detailed picture WebOS is a delight Great smart features

Rivals have subtler detail and deeper blacks A bit pricey

The 42LB700V has some serious rivals to face in this category, with competitively priced TVs such as the Sony KDL-40W605B delivering a subtler, more enticing performance at £450. But while this LG’s lively picture has merits, it’s WebOS that’s the...

LG 42LB700V (LB700) TV Review

The LB700 is LG's latest addition to their 2014 line-up of TVs and the Korean manufacturer continues to impress.

Accurate colours and greyscale ; Good backlight uniformity ; Effective local dimming ; Impressive video processing ; Great 3D ; webOS is superb ; Attractive design ; Excellent build quality ; Wide viewing angles ; Decent input lag

Native blacks are mediocre ; Occasional banding ; CMS still buggy

The LG 42LB700 is another solid TV from the Korean manufacturer, with a winning combination of design, picture quality, features and price. The design is minimalist but classy, meaning it won't look out-of-date in a year and the build quality is very...

Very easy to follow on screen set-up and interaction with existing digital boxes.

Love the tv!!

Only bad thing is the remote buttons are really sensitive so if you slightly lean on them they change what you are doing.

ease of use, picture quality, cost, remote control.

The sounsd when the volume is turned up high. I'm getting a surround sound system anyway so this will not impact me anyway.

Easy to set up and install, no issues.

Would be nice to have paper copy user instructions, rather than the installed digital version.
