LG 50 PG 7000

Great value for money, considering the screen size., Natural picture with excellent motion clarity., Photo playback via USB

No headphone output., High power consumption., External light sources brighten the screen significantly., Flat-looking picture for bright images (in ski tournaments, for example)., Gray side bars for 4:3-format pictures cannot be switched to black.,...

If you're looking for a cheap plasma TV with a respectable, 50-inch picture, you can't go wrong with the LG 50 PG 7000. Unfortunately, however, the high power consumption bitters the taste of the budget price.

LG 50PG7000 review

A 50in plasma for £1100 is a good deal by any standards, but can this LG deliver a credible sound and vision performance for the money?

Big picture at a little price ; looks great ; exhaustive specification ; detailed, colourful image ; solid sound and off-air pictures

Black levels could be better ; hints of noise at times

At this price – and we've seen it cheaper – we find it hard to find much fault with such a well-specified, solid performer

LG 50PG7000 Flag ship HD plasma display

Around the back we have the main AV inputs gathered on the right hand side with the power socket on the left, almost central to the unit. The inputs are generous with four HDMI v1.3 sockets (three on the back and one side mounted), two scarts and one...

LG 60PG7000 Review: 60" Full HD 1080p Plasma HDTV

Korean-based Lucky Goldstar (LG) is a brand name which carries a strong “value for money” connotation. Indeed, their biggest Plasma display – the 60-inch LG 60PG7000 – costs considerably less than similarly sized plasma televisions from competitors....

Expert Mode” allows for user-accessible control over Greyscale and Colour ; Gorgeous design of both the display and its on screen menus ; Generous connectivity with 4 HDMI inputs, and multimedia viewing options ; Good motion resolution ; Great cadence...

Unconvincing black level robs picture of some depth ; A flagship model deserves a better remote control ; Possible image retention issues; seemingly moreso than on competing Plasmas ; Input lag of 30ms may irk gamers with lightning reflexes ; 24p...

We started this review by mentioning the value for money associated with LG’s displays, and it’s not too surprising that we end it in much the same way. The LG 60PG7000, unsurprisingly, cannot escape the limitations necessitated by its attractive price...

Terrible

This unit is a monstrous Power Glutton ... anyone want mine ... going really, really cheap to anyone silly enough to buy it. No joke.

Looks nice.

Gobbles electricity like it was free.

LG 50PG7000

Looks great

Screen failure after a couple of weeks, had to be replaced. TV goes into shut-down mode for 10 minutes after it is switched off. Adiou from radio channels stops after 3 mins. TV cannot produce true black, more of a dark grey.

LG 60PG7000

Unbelievable value for money for such a good looking screen.

At this price you can't expect perfection and it probably isn't the very best picture quality... Still, it's very good and certainly good enough for me. You'd expect to double, possibly even triple the cost if you want to go for top end picture quality.

LG 50PG7000

Great picture and the actual TV on it's own sound is good - although we got a home cinema system too as much better base - great value for money - we have Samsung TV's which were in the same pricerange but their sound is not good....

Collects dust like a magnet.....

LG 50PG7000

Beutiful design, with a single flat glass screen and the impression of only being half an inch thick. The picture in high definition is exceptional and in normal definition very good. I have it plugged in to my Hi Fi but the sound from the set is just...

Very Heavy it needed two men to lift it onto the bracket, otherwise I cannot think of any bad points.
