At 55 inches, this LG is the OLED TV to beat

The cheapest OLED TV is no bargain, but at less than $2,000 it's actually affordable for a lot of people. If you want the joy of OLED without taking out another mortgage, this is your only option.

The LG 55EG9100 OLED TV's picture is better than any LCD or plasma TV. It's equally adept in bright and dark rooms, showed accurate color, and looks better from off-angle than any LED LCD. Its 1080p resolution is plenty for a 55-inch screen. The TV...

Albeit the most-affordable OLED TV yet, the 55EG9100 is still very expensive for a 55-inch TV. Unlike most high-end TVs it doesn't support HDR sources, and some LED LCDs can get brighter. Its 3D picture quality isn't great, and uniformity problems can...

No TV delivers the same level of picture quality for the price of the LG 55EG9100.

LG EG9100 OLED TV

The LG OLED EG9100 TV has really excellent picture quality and has even improved compared to the last generation OLED . However, it still shares the same big flaws, poor uniformity with dark colors, and the screen's brightness varying, depending on the...

Great viewing angle ; Perfect blacks ; Perfect motion (but flicker free)

Varying luminosity depending on the scene (ABL) ; Purple reflections in a very bright room ; Poor uniformity in the dark shadows ; Prone to temporary image retention after displaying static images

LG 55EG9100 TV Review: Amazing OLED Picture, Saner Price

The LG 55EG9100 delivers an excellent 1080p picture capable of rendering brilliant pyrotechnics and deep blacks. Even with the relatively lower price tag of $2,000, however, forward-looking buyers may be more interested in 4K ultra-HD models that...

Excellent contrast ; Great off-axis viewing ; Spiffy remote control

Doesn't support 4K resolution or HDR ; Sparse built-in streaming support

The LG 55EG9100 provides a best-in-class OLED picture with jaw-dropping viewing angles, but for the price we'd like 4K resolution.

At 55 inches, this LG is the OLED TV to beat

Now, to answer your questions. The fact that it's "only" 1080p and not 4K resolution shouldn't be a deal breaker for most people. Neither should its inability to handle HDR sources. It will still outperform any LED-based LCD TV we've seen, even those...

LG 55EG9100 review

As the least-expensive OLED TV on the market, the LG 55EG9100 gives you all of the awesome picture quality advantages of that technology for a price that's a bit less than astronomical. It's a stretch to call it a "bargain" at $2,000 for 55 inches, but...

Easily beats any led tv in picture quality

After reading yours along with several other reviews on the internet, I got a great deal on an open box display 55EG9100 at Best Buy, since this is now a discontinued item. As you stated, there is really no visible difference in this 1080p set and 4k...

Outstanding picture contrast and vivid, but realistic colors, Ease of operation

A bit sparse on HDMI inputs, a back lit remote would be nice

Enter your full review here (required).I purchased the 55" last year when they first came out. (Yes, dummy me paid _that_ price.) Trust me, the image quality is, and STILL worth the price that *I* paid, let alone its now down nearly $1K from what I...
