LG 42LN5300 Review

While you could argue that the LN5300's 42-inch display is a bit too big for its 60Hz britches, we still think it offers serious value for the money.

Works like expected

This TV is similar to the 42" LCD LG I purchased 5 years ago. I honestly would have rather had the same features the other TV had because it had a headphone jack that could be controlled by the remote volume, while this one does not.

Good picture and settings opptions

NO HEADPHONE JACK!!! What the hell is "service only", LG

Worked for a whole day

From what I've read, there seems to be a very common overheating issue with these televisions. Once the television overheats it goes into a 'protection' mode and does not come back on. I'm assuming that's why it had to be refurbished but the problem...

Good color and sound

Completely stopped working after a day and had to RMA it back to NewEgg

This is a television

I'd by another one if buying two TV's for my room wasn't a stupid idea

This is a television. It does what a television should. I didn't get the TV I actually ordered though, as I was sent the next year's model. Video quality is good

I live in Florida and the TV is in a room with a large window, so when it is bright out there is quite a lot of glare when viewing from an angle (and some when viewing it head on)

Best in class

Excellent picture quality, white balance, color accuracy, full High Definition 1920x1080 ; Very slick user interface ~ it's so good that LG still uses the exact same operating system on their current line of TV's ; All the inputs & outputs anyone could...

We have yet to experience anything even slightly negative about this TV. We had the 32LD450 32" version for three years and only upgraded to this one because we were ready for a larger TV

Good TV

Make sure you rename the HDMI ports to PC using the menu, otherwise if you plug in a PC to them, you will get overscanning because the PC displays a different size for TV labeled HDMI ports. The colors are okay, but not as vibrant as my PC screen (At...

Cheap. Pretty crazy low for a 42" LED TV ; Really light ; The User Menu is pretty straight forward

The TV is defaulted to some wonky default eco setting where the screen color is way too warm / has that awesome "SUPER OMEGA DYNAMIC CONTRAST" enabled. I ended up using the Expert 1 profile and tweaking it from there
