Panasonic TC-P50S1 Review – 50-inch Plasma HDTV

Panasonic brings the latest technology to town by the introduction of the Neo-PDP panel for a rapid decline in power consumption. The black levels are impressively better with a greater contrast ratio of 40,000:1 as well. The Neo PDP panel brings...

The Panasonic TC-50PS14 is part of the 2009 Panasonic Plasma TV line up. With 1080p resolution, this HDTV has the highest possible resolution to compete with the other 2009 releases.

Panasonic TC-P50S1 Plasma HDTV Reviewed

This mid-line, Energy Star certified set ranges in size from 42-54 inches and uses Panasonic's new and more efficient Neo PDP to deliver better blacks and higher light output. The connection panel features three HDMI, two component video and one PC...

Panasonic plasmas are consistently good performers, and the new NeoPDP purportedly has an even better contrast ratio than previous modelswhile also being more energy-efficient ; The TC-P50S1 has a 1080p resolution and accepts 1080p/24 signals through...

Plasma TVs generally aren't as bright as LCDs and therefore aren'tthe best choice for a really bright room with lots of potential lightreflections ; The TC-P50S1 lacks the THX certification, Viera Cast, and 24p Direct In mode available in higher-end...

The TC-P50S1 is a solid mid-level HDTV offering. It lacks the marqueefeatures and design elements that distinguish Panasonic's higher-end2009 lines -- like wireless HD transmission, THX certification, andViera Cast Web connectivity - but it should be a...

Panasonic TC-P50S1 Review

Many consumers usually prefer mid-level products, as they can enjoy a good quality product, without having to break the bank for it. Panasonic knows this oh-so-well, and their 50 inch plasma TV, Panasonic TC-P50S1 is the proof. Without being fully...

Overall great picture quality ; Amazing black levels ; Great color saturation ; More energy efficient through its NeoPDP display

It does not have THX certification, 24p cinema mode and Viera Cast fancy add-ons ; Anti-reflective capabilities are limited ; Small issues with color accuracy

Connectivity is another area in which S1 does not claim the leading role, as its capabilities are decent enough, without being anything out of the ordinary. It comes with three HDMI inputs, two component-video inputs, one AV input with composite and...

Awesome! But not perfect.

Plasma response time is .001ms, but there's still a little motion blur. It's the best you can get with plasma though and it's far better than a 4ms or even 2ms LCD.

Excellent color, very bright. Anti-Glare screen works well. Almost no input lag with game mode. Great for gaming

600hz really doesn't do much since the tv runs at 60hz. LCDs that use 120hz actually refresh at 120hz and input the signal at 120hz with interpolation. But these plasmas just input at 600hz and display at 60hz. All plasmas do that though, even Samsung

Panasonic VIERA 50" 1080p 600Hz Plasma HDTV TC-P50S1

I don't really understand what other people were saying about it not having good sound. They must have been trying to watch TV with a vacuum cleaner between them and the tv. You could probably use the power LED as a night light.

Perfect picture, very easy to customize picture and sounds. The best looking TV I have seen
