Panasonic TC-PUT50 review

Panasonic has a reputation for producing high-quality plasma televisions, and with its 2012 models the company has not disappointed. The new lineup has single-handedly changed the level of quality we now expect from midrange televisions. The Panasonic...

In pure dollar/performance terms the Panasonic TC-PUT50 series is one of the best TVs we've seen, with astounding picture quality for the money. Black levels are the equal of Panasonic's ST50 series in a darkened room, shadow detail is very good, and...

The UT50 series doesn't perform very well in a lit room, with blacks becoming muddy and indistinct. The performance of 3D is only passable, with quite distinct ghosting effects. The TV lacks advanced setup controls, which makes tweaking a better...

The Panasonic TC-P50UT50 plasma TV nearly matches the world-beating picture quality of the ST50 series, at an even lower price.

Got the 8 blinks of death

Got the 8 blinks of death. After googling it apparently it happens to a lot of people. I expect a 55" tv I purchase to last longer than 3 years. Bye bye Panasonic!

The picture quality was ok

Died after 3 years of very low usage

"Should've gotten the Sony!"

7 blinks of death. Panasonic not willing to accept there is a problem. We are screwed, never buying this brand again.

Not much

Burned out after 24 months of very light use.

"8 Blink of Doom"

It seems that this is not an isolated problems. When you go to search for the first time what is wrong with your TV and google can autocomplete the problem for you, you know this is not an isolated incident. From the message boards, this is a recurring...

Loved the TV until it stopped working.

Horrible TV, and support! Burned out twice!

DO NOT PURCHASE! Well reviewed TV because no one owns one for more then a few months. The tv burned out the first time on christmas day of 2012, spent the holiday season with a new surround sound system, a bunch of blue rays, no TV! Burned out again...

Looked nice until it stopped working twice 8 months apart.

Horrible customer support, tv burned out twice, second time out of warranty. Defective products that do not last more then 2 years. I would never buy another product of this brand again.

Great tv for the price.

Great tv, will buy another Panasonic next.

Looks plain but pretty good, not very heavy. Nice that it has 3d and internet.

Motion smoother has to be on strong, or else I can tell it kind of lags when the camera moves quickly.

"Stopped working after 18 months of light use."

Got the Blinking Red light today (8 blinks) which means that one or more boards failed. Probably going to cost me 300 to fix cause the labor is 2x the price of a board. And then there is the hassel of it all. Panisonics only authorized repair place is...

none, its just the same picture as the rest of the brands more or less

poor quality
