Panasonic TC-PVT30 review

For the last couple of years Panasonic's best plasma has been the most highly anticipated TV review on CNET, and 2011 is no exception. The top-of-the-line Panasonic TV-PVT30 series is the most clicked-upon TV on our site and my most asked-for review on...

The Panasonic TC-PVT30 has outstanding overall picture quality, with superior black-level performance, very good shadow detail and accurate color points in THX mode. It can handle 1080p/24 sources and bright rooms well and exhibits the nearly perfect...

The VT30 is very expensive, and last year's Panasonic plasmas lost black-level performance over relatively short periods of time. Its color is not as good as the best current plasmas and it uses significantly more power than LCD TVs.

Superb all-around picture quality, anchored by the deepest plasma black levels of the year, make the Panasonic TC-PVT30 series the best-performing TV we've tested in 2011.

Superior Picture - When it works

I have purchased two of these Panasonic TVs. The first was in 2009. I moved in 2010, and rather than subject the unit to a move and storage, I sold it. I never had any problems with that unit. My 2nd was purchased in late 2011, but because I had a new...

> 2D and 3D performance are above average > Deep blacks, natural-looking colors

The Panasonic TC-P55VT30 has been high-lauded as having one of the best pictures available at a price most consumers can afford. What all of the reviews fail to mention is that if or when the TV fails, Panasonic will not stand behind their product.

The TV cost $500 to repair after 18 mos of use

I would buy another Panasonic if it turns out that this is a exception and not a major manufacturing flaw.

I was very satisfied with the color, picture clarity and sound.

i purchased the TV on 6/24/2011. On 12/20/2012 it died completely. The problem was a circuit board. The repair center had to send for a new board from Panasonic. It is on back order and I have been waiting 13 days for it to come in.

BURN-IN IMAGE IN SIX MONTHS -USING PANDORA APP- BEWARE!

Burn in image in less than 6 months of buying the TV caused by listening to Pandora music, even though Pandora does not have any still images for more than two minutes. Panasonic figured out this was a problem and pulled Pandora from the available...

Picture quality is great color saturation and motion are great. 3-D image is great.

Easy burn-in problems Anti-Image retention features do not prevent burn-ins Too much money for the value Sound only works properly if you use panasonic HDMI cables Customer service is terrible Warranty is severely limited - Buyer Beware!!

Simply Superb Television!

This is my 7th Panasonic plasma and the best. 2D and 3D performance are superb. Wall mounted it really looks great. It is very thin at 1.6" but is not so thin as to be delicate to handle. The menu system is Panasonics best yet and easy to follow. There...

+ 2D and 3D performance are superb + Deep blacks, natural-looking colors + Audio is very good for build-in speakers + Wall mounted it really looks great + Built in APPS... Netflix, Amazon, VUDU etc. work as well

- I don't have any complaints

Incredible Plasma!

I've had this TV for 2 months now. The picture quality on the VT30 is amazing! The combination of style and picture quality made this a clear stand out when doing months of research. The color clarity and depth make you feel like you're watching HD for...

Great TV with outstanding picture!

The picture was great out of the box; however, I calibrated the picture and made sure the 3D configurations matched my Panasonic DMP-BDT310 3D blu-ray player and the picture actually got better. I also have a Samsung C8000 3D LED LCD TV. I have gone...

Slim profile, very dark black level, great 3D performance

CANNOT AGREE ABOUT BURN IN PROBLEM.

There are 5 models of Panasonics, as well as I think 4 models of Samsung Plasmas, and LG. Samsung picture quality is close, but not as good as the GT30 or the VT30. If you feel it is too expensive, buy the lower priced versions (much less). If you want...

Working in a retail store, this tv is on 12 hours a day for 5 months. Many times the demo dvd needs to have "play all" and a statis image is on. After all this timke, there is no hint of burn in. You have an anomoly. Did you try the scrolling bar?

Current price of $1999.98 for this quality is not super expensive for the best possible picture on the market.
