Great EDTV

My review of this has been from two perspectives: use as a TV with all source material coming from a computer, and use as a computer monitor (sitting far from the display) for web surfing, etc.. For the former use, it is outstanding watching DVDs and...

First, my hardware setup ; I have tested this using the vga out of a laptop (XP Home) and a desktop (Win2k), connected to the included vga in of this monitor (PC port), using the native resolution (852x480). Signal sources are the computers' internal...

The resolution is only 852x480, which is pretty limiting as a computer display. Even Windows' control panels, which are pretty small, are too big use effortlessly at that resolution. So, while this display has been great as a media center when viewing...

SPECTACULAR

I own the 2005 50" HD version of this panal: TH-50PHD8UK. I can honestly say that even though my 50" HD has 1366x768 native pixels this 42" has better image quality for cable broadcast and DVD movies. HD content looks about exactly the same. The...

Spectacular picture! Black levels are the BEST I have seen to date on any flat panal type display, and I have reviewed a lot! Vibrant image with no visible noise, "Dynamic" mode is great with HD, "Cinema" mode though a little dimmer looks fantastic...

This comes with no stand, no tuner, & no speakers. No tuner means that this panel CAN NOT do anything on its own, you have to feed it a decoded signal. It will not except coaxial from the wall for cable. You will need a cable box that has S-video out,...

So Far So Good

Someone mentioned changing a few settings. Please let me know what to change for the best picture.

It fits. No speakers or other add ons it fits in the furniture, barely. So far a good picture but need to fine tune

A bit difficult to connect. No digital audio connection

Simply an awesome TV

Everyone that comes over to see this says "Man, I need to get an HDTV" and when I tell them this is not, they can't believe it. If you think you need the HD version, I would suggest you go to a local store and have them put an HD program on an EDTV...

I purchased this TV about 2 months ago now, when it was several hundred bones more than it is now, and I still feel it was the best purchase I've ever made. Granted it is an EDTV (480 lines of resolution as opposed to most plasma HD versions' 768...

Hmmm...it doesn't cook and clean for me? I really can't think of anything I don't like about this TV

Best Plasma deal out there by far

This is a no-brainer. You are wasing money if you don't get this. Colors are amazing and beautiful, sound is beautiful too. I cannot imagine anyone giving it less than 5 -- I don't think those other guys own this....? The contrast and black levels --...

This plasma is amazing. The best EDTV out there -- HD broadcasts look amazing, like looking through a window. Total 3-d effect. Looks much better and more real than many much more expensive HDTV's. LCD's look flat and dim / washed out by comparison --...

People might look at the EDTV designation and not realize that you are getting a picture that will blow away many HDTV's out there. There is no way you can tell its EDTV just looking at it. You simply cannot imagine it, you won't believe how beautiful...

Not really HD

Great price for a Panasonic Plasma; fantastic black levels

Although you can feed it up to 1080i, it's really a 480P panel, with detail no better than a DVD
