Panasonic TH-42PZ80U Plasma HDTV

With the rapidly depleting prices of flat-panel televisions in the current climate, 1080p is quickly becoming both a buzz phrase and a necessary technology to common consumers instead of a strictly enthusiast's tool. The fact that a rash of 32" 1080p...

An incredibly able plasma television for less than £750? Behold, one of the biggest bargains in modern consumer electronics

Astounding value for money, and a no-brainer if you’re after a 42in set

Panasonic TH-42PZ80B

Panasonic TH-42PZ80B is a 106cm plasma HDTV. It offers the viewer a true high-definition 1920 x 1080 screen resolution. However, it does not have the 'Intelligent Frame Creation' as well as '24p Real Cinema' MCFI technologies. It has the usual HDMI...

Some compromises have been made, and its performance in well-lit rooms isn't quite so hot, but this is still a great screen for the money. Panasonic TH-42PZ80B is tagged with Panasonic, plasma, television and high definition. Select a tag (Panasonic,...

Panasonic TH42PZ80

With excellent overall performance and great value, the PZ80 should be given serious consideration ..

The PZ80 improves on the performance of the entry level PX80 range and loses little to the step up PZ85 series and as such makes a very interesting proposition. The overall performance of the PZ80 with High Definition as well as Standard Definition...

Panasonic TH42PZ80 / TH42PZ80B Review: 42" Viera Plasma HDTV

Panasonic TH42PZ80 is the third plasma HDTV from the world's largest plasma flat screen manufacturer we've reviewed in as many months. The Panasonic TH42PZ80 offers true high definition 1920 x 1080 screen resolution over the HD-ready PX80 range, but...

Delivering excellent black level, revealing shadow detail, fluid motion, detailed resolution and natural colours, performance-wise the Panasonic TH42PZ80 is fundamentally a PZ85 minus the [Intelligent Frame Creation] technology which–truth be...

Poor service

This TV had an excellent picture for games and movies while it was still working

Stopped working suddenly less than 2 years after purchase. Panasonic support is very very poor. Parts were no longer available or discontinued although they will not tell you such. Instead they tell you that you can pay for the parts and they will let...

The Love of my Life...

Unfortunately for the Egg, I work in Home Theater at a popular retail store...so I was all but forced to buy it through them rather than this glorious site. Having said that, this is by far the best television I have ever owned. If it weren't for the...

Absolutely stunning picture that only gets better when calibrated(although the vivid setting can be near blinding). Blu-ray and games are just like being there, and the black and color ratios leave absolutely nothing to be desires. Also, when put on...

In reference to some other posts, it is indeed a disappointment that Component cables will only output 720p. However, this is not a drawback or con of the Panasonic brand, but merely the limitations of Component bandwidth. If you want full HD audio and...

Gimped inputs

The problems with the inputs really bother me quite a bit. I don't get why Panasonic, in their eternal wisdom, wouldn't include a VGA port, wouldn't allow a 1080p display to accept 1080p signals from component (or over VGA on models with VGA ports)...

On the upside, the picture is downright gorgeous. The black levels are about as good as it gets, the colors really pop, there's little to no glare, the picture is amazingly smooth.... just about everything about the picture is awesome. Though what else...

There seems to be a bit of red drift. That is, the colors have are a bit more red than they should be. It's not very noticeable and seemed to go away once I calibrated it properly. Still, just thought I should mention it ; The inputs ; My first gripe...
