Panasonic Viera TX-26LXD80 26in LCD TV

If you're simply after a second-room telly for daytime TV, Panasonic's TX-26LXD80 has its merits.

Panasonic TX-26LXD80 review

This 26" LCD TV makes short work of Freeview but could do with work when dealing with HD

Solid pictures and sound ; Excellent connectivity

Slightly drab design ; Over expensive

Despite its recent price cut, the 26LXD80 still looks too expensive when considered against the clearly superior Sony 26V4000

Panasonic TX-26LXD80 television

Let's get this straight – the 26-inch TV market is not where it's at. The UK's thirst for ever-bigger TV screens means that there is little development at this tiny size. The TX-26LXD80 is very user-friendly. It's simple to use, the remote control is...

User-friendly, Freeview pictures

Costs as much as some 32-inchers, chubby, high-def lacks sparkle

The TX-26LXD80 is very user-friendly. It’s simple to use, the remote control is logically laid-out and the TV takes the pain away from setting it up by performing a few duties without being asked. As such, this is a great digital TV for undemanding...

Panasonic TX-26LXD80

Looks smart. Easy to set up and start watching. Speakers not hidden away, so sound comes straight forward. Lots of scope to alter sound and picture quality to your preference. Remote control is a good size and well laid out.

This is our first LCD TV so, as expected, we have to get used to very slight blurring at the edges of things moving quickly across the screen, but this is only really noticeable when sitting close to it. Not a problem.

Panasonic TX-26LXD80

Sleek unit, easy to setup. Infact, you only need to turn it on! All other basic controls were easy to use & understand, including when connecting to bluray & sky+

Slight ripple noticed on front of tv casing (both ends/horizontals, seems to pinch at centres)... which believe down to poor build quality. It's only noticeable in certain light and at certain angles.. so have tolerated it. Real shame that Freesat...
