Panasonic TX-L42E30B review

Ask any AV enthusiast to recommend a plasma TV and they'll invariably mention Panasonic. The same isn't always true of LED TVs, though – something the PDP giant will hope to change with its new 2011 range of LED sets.

Blu-ray pictures; attractive design; fast, intuitive GUI; multimedia applications

Off-axis viewing reveals light pooling; no web browser

Panasonic TX-L42E30B review

Not bothered by 3D? Panasonic's new 42-inch LCD TV be right up your street

Classy design and build ; Impressive picture and sound performance ; Smart TV features ; Fast and easy to use ; Freeview USB recording

Lack of 3D support might be a concern to futureproofers ; No unrestricted web browsing ; Limited picture adjustments

Panasonic might reign unchallenged as king of plasma, but the LED-powered TX-L42E30B proves that its commitment to LCD is no less fierce.

Connections plenty of them, really good sound, easy to set up menus straight forward and low energy

Picture noise blurring and judder it just couldn't keep up looked like heat shimmer when you got movement even slow movement, lines round faces, tried all the tweaks to no avail, Comet ran through some diagnostics reset still same, no swivel base,...

The in-plane LED illuminated display is stunning. There is no light bleed as experienced by some reviewers.

No built in wifi. Viera/Web not fully developed. Needed to adjust both colour and sound to suit individual taste, but not a problem.

We have ALWAYS purchased Sony but were disappointed with the last television. The panasonic is the best picture and sound we have seen. Very pleased with purchase.

When an image(maybe a person or any fast movine thing) moves over the background there is some breakup around the edges of that image. It is slightly annoying.

Everything is of the highest standard. I read all of the reviews on this website and this guided my purchase.I'm delighted with the television.

The scart (RGB)input is of a lower quality than older televisions( apparently a common feature with newer tvs). My old Sky + box appeared sub-standard as it didn't have an hdmi connection.Freeview HD looked magnificent while Sky looked poor...

Easy to use, set up and excellent quality

Sound could be better, however suspect that maybe due to the fact that I am used to a big CRT with big speakers!

The design is excellent. I bought the "42" which I mounted on to the wall. The slim size of it makes it perfect to be mount on to the corner of the wall. The ability to be able to connect onto the internet with this television makes it excellent to use.
