If you want the picture quality of Panasonic's latest 3D models but don't need 3D, then this 42in plasma television is the answer to your prayers.

If you want the vast majority of the picture quality of Panasonic’s latest 3D models but don’t need 3D, then the P42V20 is the answer to your prayers. It’s an outstanding 42in TV in almost every way, and as such manages to make its £1,160 price look...

Panasonic TX-P42V20B review

If you want top plasma pictures but aren't fussed about 3D, the P42V20 is the telly for you

Superb picture quality ; Good feature count ; Straightforward operation ; Good multimedia tools

limited USB HDD recording compatibility ; Images not quite as bright as similarly priced LCD sets ; Occasional slight bias towards green

Panasonic's V20 sets deliver most of the premium picture quality features developed for its top-end VT20 3D series without costing as much or limiting you to massive screen sizes. The P42V20 reviewed here, for example, is a 42in model for the...

Panasonic Viera TX-P42V20B review

It's an absolutely stunning TV, but Pansonic's own G20 series televisions have nearly identical image quality and are a fair bit cheaper.

Good online services. Excellent recording to HDD usb. Crystal clear picture. Wi-fi built in. Stream HD content direct from laptop. Good sound for such a slim TV

Fantastic depth, picture movement and sharpness.

Although the set up is easy, the other features are quite tricky and a false move can leave you without a channel for half and hour whilst you try and re-set!

Panasonic TX-P42V20

Excellent picture quality and easy to use. Design is very stylish and is finished in a "grey/silver metal" effect. I did a lot of research prior to this purchase and this television lives up to my expectations. Sound could be better, but that is being...

Sound could be better, if you were being really critical.

Panasonic TX-P42V20

Did not want 3D as technology will change several times before standard adopted. The Panasonic TX-P42V20B has the best picture to be found on any 2D TV. Would highly recommend.

Sound quality better than most flat panel TVs, with three speakers, but still benefits from being connected to home cinema system.

Panasonic TX-P42V20

Stunning TV. HD and most SD sources look incredible, though steer clear of some of the picture presets (Dynamic especially) - THX or Professional modes recommended (worth tweaking a bit). Sound not great straight out the box but with some careful EQ...

I've noticed a very occasional flicker, but only with certain HD material when the room is in darkness, and only then in certain muted, shadowy, low-lit scenes. The TV is still running in and hasn't been fully calibrated yet so it may be a teething...
