Panasonic Viera TX-P46Z1 46in Plasma TV

The Panasonic Viera TX-P46Z1 is a truly stunning plasma TV, but comes at a price.

The P46Z1 is a truly stunning television, combining cutting edge design and technology with professional-grade AV standards. To see one in action is to desperately want to own one.

Panasonic TX-P46Z1 review

Panasonic TX-P46Z1 is a sensational, but pricey plasma with 600Hz processing

Stunning, slender design ; Excellent picture quality ; Wireless 1080p

It costs a heck of a lot ; The wireless system is external

A benchmark product in any number of ways, but way too expensive for us to fully recommend

Panasonic TX-P46Z1 review

This is the flagship model in Panasonic's 2009 TV range, but can it live up to its lofty pricetag?

Really, truly wireless ; fine facility with motion, black tones and contrasts ; half-decent sound

Eye-wateringly expensive relative to overall performance ; not as slim as it pretends

As a wireless TV, this really fits the bill. Whether it's worth the money is questionable

Panasonic TX-P46Z1 review

Panasonic's new flagship range is mightily expensive but appears formidably equipped – including wireless video streaming straight out of the box

Desirable and capable, but that price is a hurdle – rivals offer either a better picture or more screen estate for the money

Panasonic TX-P46Z1B wireless plasma TV

The UK's first wireless plasma gets a seeing to

Terrifically dynamic pictures thanks to its 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 600Hz processing, wireless connections box, VieraCast internet portal, 4x HDMI connections

It ain't cheap, wireless transmitter and receiver are a bit unsightly, VieraCast still has limited partners

Wireless' is a slight misnomer of course, since you'll still need to plug it into the mains, but that detail aside, the rest of its connectivity options reside in a separate box which then transmits picture and sound to the screen. This can be done...

Panasonic TX-P46Z1B wireless plasma TV

This is a screen that has everything - skinny good looks, an astoundingly dynamic picture with super clear sharpness and resolution, plus a full array of connections that you can tuck away neatly out of sight thanks to its wireless connection system.

Stunningly good pictures thanks to its 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 600Hz processing, wireless connections box, VieraCast internet portal, 4x HDMI connections

VieraCast still has limited partners, wireless transmission boxes could have been neater, and it has a hefty price tag
