Panasonic Viera TC-PG20 review: Panasonic Viera TC-PG20

Panasonic Viera TC-PG20

Superb black-level performance; accurate primary colors in THX mode; great color saturation; effective antireflective screen; uses less power than previous 1080p plasmas; VieraCast provides access to select Internet services and improved customization.

Last year's Panasonic plasmas lost black-level performance over relatively short periods of time; cannot properly handle 1080p/24 sources; fewer streaming services and apps than the competition; uses more power than LCDs.

Panasonic's TC-PG20/25 series offers a highly tempting mix of features, value, and initial picture quality, but long-term black-level performance is still an open question.

Panasonic TC-P54G20 Review – 54-inch Plasma HDTV

Talking about its aesthetics, Panasonic TC-P54G20 is not very spectacular like some of the latest models and still continues with its traditional approach. Bringing in Skype in its Viera cast feature list, this model also make communication fun and...

Panasonic Viera TC-P50G20 Plasma HDTV

LCDs are now soaking up a larger and larger percentage of the market, and it's been hard slogging for plasma displays. But that doesn't faze Panasonic. As the sole remaining major Japanese plasma manufacturer, it offers a huge range of models. Yes,...

For 1080p/24 sources, a 24p Direct in setting gives you the choice of either 48 hertz (frames per second) playback (each 24-fps frame flashes twice, with no 3:2 pulldown) or 60 Hz (the set converts the 24-fps source to 60 fps with 3:2 pulldown). With...
