Pioneer PDP-435HD

The PDP-435HD displayed DVDs and standard definition TV with finesse. For high-definition content, however, the Pioneer was disappointing, largely for...

Superb DVD pictures, great audio, plenty of connection options

Low visual performance for HDTV

While the swanky PDP-435HD is a fair performer overall and a good screen for DVDs, we've seen better image quality from Pioneer.

Pioneer PDP-435XDE review

This 43-inch Pioneer is specced up to the max with an HDMI digital video input ready and waiting for high definition telly

We can’t think of many better ways to experience Freeview than on a futureproof, giant screen plasma

Pioneer PDP-435HD

This is definitely one of the better-performing plasmas in its size category, and its good feature package helps justify the extra expense.

Sophisticated styling ; Wide-ranging connectivity options, including HDMI ; Highly accurate colour ; Solid video processing with 2:3 pull-down

Subpar black-level performance ; Visible noise in both bright and dark scenes ; Connectivity limited to only four main slots

Excellent

I love this TV. The picture is awesome! Being protected by a 5 year in home warranty is a big plus. I use a Pioneer HD Set Top Box with this, as well as a Pioneer DVD Player and the picture is, as I said, awesome.

I am operating Foxtel Digital through my plasma and since Foxtel is only standard definition it does not do justice to the plasma. When watching DVDs the true quality shines.

This is a great way to watch tv. The separate media unit ensures minimal cables are run from the wall mounted installation and the picture quality and sound is fantastic. The 5 year warranty is a stand out compared to other brands. The delivery and...

Although I have had the plasma a month I have not discovered anything bad, apart from finding out I could have bought the 50" for almost the same price 2 weeks later.

The separate receiver box is FANTASTIC if wall mounting - only a power cable and 1x DVI cable goes through the wall, and best of all, Pioneer does the Installation for you. Pioneer has the best service in Plasma TVs by far, and the quality is...

Picture quality, BEST warranty (5yrs), best Service (Free delivery/Installation), Separate receiver box reduces cable clutter and is VERY important for wall mounting.

No integrated digital and the Pioneer digital receiver lacks an multifunction remote (you will need the TV remote to turn it on and adjust volume, and HD box remote for channels), some find the receiver box too big for cabinets.
