Samsung's 63-inch PN63A760 fares alright in recent review

Yet again, we're facing just another "pretty good" plasma in the highly competitive realm of flat-panels. Samsung's largest 7 Series PDP (PN63A760) was recentl...

Samsung PN50A760

Samsung's slick PN50A760 is brimming with multimedia features, but it loses some points for its soft-looking picture.

Excellent video processing. Screen optimized for rooms with bright, ambient light. Robust local and network multimedia file support.

Relatively expensive. Soft-looking picture. Picture contrast only average.

Samsung PN50A760

Samsung's PN50A760 ($2500, as of November 4, 2008) combines cool multimedia capabilities and great image quality. In our lab tests, this plasma HDTV crushed the competition. It is the only model in its size category to earn a rating of Very Good for...

Extremely easy to use Great multimedia extras

Expensive

Whereas the PN50A760's remote lacks an aspect ratio button (called P.Size on the LN46A650 remote), however, this model offers the aforementioned Content button. You can still adjust the aspect ratio from the Tools menu; it's just not as easy to access

Samsung PNA760 review: Samsung PNA760

Samsung PNA760

Accurate primary colors; effective antireflective screen; includes a smooth dejudder mode; unbridled feature set including network streaming, built-in interactive content and news, stocks and weather feeds; broad selection of picture setup options;...

Reproduces relatively light black levels; less accurate grayscale, especially in dark areas; Smooth mode introduces artifacts and doesn't work with 1080p sources; most interactive content seems tacked on; streaming doesn't support third-party DLNA...

The Samsung PN63A760 brings a huge feature set and enormously different styling, but its picture quality fell short of the tough competition.

Samsung PN50A760 50" Plasma Review

The Samsung PN50A760 has basically the same feature set as its LCD counterpart (with a few plasma/LCD specific exceptions) and changes only a few styling cues from the 750 generation. As you'd

Fantastic out of the box performance ; Great deinterlacing and scaling ; Lots of calibration options ; Great styling ; Tons of extras for you to experiment with

Stylized edge sometimes reflects image ; Slow response to remote commands ; Random loss of picture

Samsung PS 63 A 756

Extremely bright for this size class., Extensive network functionality

Low maximum contrast., Judder in 24p content., High power consumption when displaying bright images

We can’t help but be impressed by the sheer size of Samsung’s 63-inch PS 63 A 756. Detail-rich Blu-rays look absolutely superb on this giant screen, but home-cinema aficionados will dislike the relatively low maximum contrast, relatively pronounced...
