Samsung H8000 TV

The Samsung H8000 LED TV is a great TV, but if you don't need the curved screen, go for a cheaper model, like the . It has about the same picture quality.

Great contrast ratio with good blacks. ; Very few reflections, and can get very bright. This TV is excellent in a very bright room. ; Good 3D with no crosstalk.

The curved screen doesn't improve the experience significantly. ; As with all Samsung LED TVs, the picture quality degrades when viewing it at an angle.

Samsung UE55H8000

Does Samsung's flagship Full HD TV for 2014 pale against its UHD sibling?

Excellent 2D and 3D picture quality ; Easy to use smart TV system ; Good sound quality ; Has all UK catch-up TV services

Curved screen can be problematic with reflections ; Might feel expensive once its rivals are out

Finally, we’d suggest caution around the UE55H8000’s dynamic contrast system. For while it can marginally improve the image’s contrast, it can also make dark scenes look unstable thanks to the fluctuating brightness levels it causes. So given that the...

Samsung UE65H8000 review

OK, so it's curved, but what about 4K?

Smart Hub apps ; Speedy navigation ; Great design & giant size ; Freeview HD & Freesat HD tuners

Full HD resolution panel ; Reflections from curved screen ; Unreliable picture presets ; Light spillage in corners

The Samsung UE65H8000 looks great switched-off, it's loaded with apps and processing power, and it produces some decent images from all sources. However pleasant it is to operate and look at though, the 65-inch UE65H8000 seems overpriced for what...

Samsung UE55H8000 review

Samsung's full HD TV flagship gets the curve

Attractive curved-screen design ; Excellent picture quality ; Sophisticated Smart TV system ; Good sonics

Expensive for HD set ; Curved screen exaggerates reflections ; Picture presets not helpful ; Steep interface learning curve

Although it looks expensive for a 55-inch full HD TV in these increasingly 4K times, there's no doubt that the UE55H8000 is a fantastic HD picture performer and a heck of a looker to boot.

Samsung UE65H8000

This is a fine set but the high price combined with a lack of 4K loses it a star

Lots of insight ; Natural colour balance ; Stable with motion ; Impressive contrast combined with solid, yet detailed blacks

Full HD only ; Expensive ; Screen curve may not suit all ; Slightly uneven backlighting on our review sample

A couple of years ago a Full HD 65in set costing just over £3000 would have been seen as a bargain. Today, we think it needs to have 4K TV to fully justify the price.

Samsung UE48H8000 curved TV review

The latest trend in television is for curved panels, designed to deliver a more immersive experience. Flat screen is so last generation. But is the move to curved just a fad? The Samsung UE48H8000 is priced at around £1300, so you pay a premium for the...

Picture quality is great, Smart Controller, smart functions

Too small for the curved effect to really take hold, close in price to 48-inch UHD sets from Samsung

The Samsung UE48H8000 is priced at around £1300, so you pay a premium for the curved design. But you get a lot of TV for that money - and not just because it's curved. The quality of the picture is the thing that really stands out, which makes watching...

Samsung UE55H8000 review

Editor's note 1 May 2014 : After the original version of this review was published, Samsung informed us it had sent us a pre-production sample. It has now sent us a final production sample to test and we have updated the review and score to reflect its...

The Samsung UE55H8000 produces beautiful pictures when viewed in brighter rooms, has an excellent smart TV system and its audio quality is good too. Its curvy nature and stylish design means it also looks the business.

It's hugely expensive (around £2,000) for a Full HD TV.

Supremely stylish and bursting with features, the UE55H8000 produces excellent pictures, but it's very pricey for a Full HD model.

Samsung H8000 review

Samsung H8000 is the successor to the very popular F8000. It is a curved Ultra HD TV with all of Samsung's latest Smart TV features, including TV apps and voice control

Samsung UE65H8000 (H8000) Full HD TV Review

We take a look at Samsung's UE65H8000 flagship Full HD TV and wonder if the curve makes more sense on a bigger screen size.

Great blacks and contrast ratio ; Reference greyscale and colour accuracy ; Excellent video processing ; Superb Smart TV System ; Effective motion controller

Not Ultra HD 4K ; No built-in camera ; Relatively expensive

Unsurprisingly, Samsung have delivered yet another quality TV in the form of the UE65H8000. The Korean giant has been on something of a roll this year and it doesn’t look like this will be stopping any time soon. The H8000 makes for a very classy Full...

Samsung UE55H8000 (H8000) Curved Full HD LED TV Review

Steve Withers takes a look at Samsung's new flagship Full HD TV that, like its higher resolution brothers, also sports a curved screen.

Good blacks and contrast ratio ; Reference greyscale and colour accuracy ; Excellent video processing ; Superb Smart TV System ; Effective motion controller ; Low input lag

Build quality could be better ; No built-in camera ; Relatively expensive

The Samsung UE55H8000 is the kind of accomplished TV that we have come to expect from the Korean giant, with an irresistible combination of style, features and performance. Whilst you can debate the viability of a curved screen on a 55-inch TV, there's...
