Better than plasma and projection

I went in looking at plasma, but they are still way too expensive. I have read so many negative reviews about the Gateway plasma that I passed on it. Plus the 50 inch Gateway is $6999. The Samsung DLP has a clean sharp picture. The store I purchased...

Best of both plasma and projection without the burn in problems.

Some pixelization in fast moving sections.

100% Digital 100% of the Time!

For years on end, Sony has dominated the market in video products from camcorders, to digital cameras, to TV sets. Well, Samsung is making a hostile effort to unseat Sony as the front runner in the TV market. Their engineering and manufacturing ...

Excellent build quality, Samsung's relationship with Texas Instruments. Future readiness.

Unsure of the life expectancy of the user replaceable bulb.

This baby rocks

Okay I finally broke down and bought a new TV and I am not regretting it a bit. The TV I selected was the Samsung 50” DLP. After reading several reviews and seeing the TV in person I knew I had to have it. The picture is amazing, best in class to me ...

Big Screen, amazing color and sharpness, lots of input options ... just plain amazing.

Setup maybe be required to eliminate green.

Awesome Picture and Great Technology (with a Few Quirks.)

I purchased this unit in Nov. 2002. The picture quality was very good especially DVD's and when watching HDTV programming. I Then called in an video specialist to calibrate the sets brightens, contrast, gamma, color, etc. and the picture has been ...

Best picture quality for brightness and detail.

Some use interface issues.

Great value and Crisp image

First a little about me... because it's important to know the qualifications of a reviewer before you accept their opinion right? I work in the entertainment industry creating digital content for HD/SD broadcast. I know a bit more than the Average Joe...

Dynamic color reproduction. Super crisp in DVI mode. Shallow cabinet. Great price.

Blacks aren't as deep as I'd like. Most DVD's look bad in DVI mode.

Samsung HLN507W

I had decided to wait until the price of Plazma Tvs came down to make the plunge into HDTV. That was until I hapened by a display at Circuit City which inluded the DLP set. Up til this time I hadn't been aware of this technology butg I immediately saw ...

Size, weight, clarity, lack of burn in, no convergence issue.`

Finicky with NTSC standard signals. Premium price. Unknown reliability.

Some Quality Issues

Update Several salespeople have told me that the light source of DLP televisions burns out in about a year, so it wouldn't be smart to buy this. The problem with DLP DLP (Digital light processing) is a technology developed by Texas ...

Accurate colors, reduced glare

Bulb life problems, quality of internal parts, imitative design, cheap remote

Long-term Review

I have had this TV for 2.5 years and here are my long-term impressions: Picture quality: excellent for the most part. One problem was with standard definition TV (SD) from the cable company. When I first got the TV I used Time Warner cable in New ...
