Samsung's 87S and 89S DLP sets with LED lighting have definite advantages over other technologies.

 

If you can get one, picture quality is quite good, save for the limited viewing angle (typical for rear projection). Three HDMI inputs is nice, with the slightly pricier 89S series supporting version 1.3 versus HDMI version 1.1 on the 87S series. The ...

Best combination of picture quality and affordability amongst large 1080p sets plus low power consumption.

Typical rear-projection cons: can?t wall mount and limited viewing angle. Hard to find.
