Samsung LE46M51 46in LCD TV

This is the largest LCD TV we've reviewed, but is bigger always better?

Samsung LE46M51 review

Samsung takes the big-screen fight to its rivals

Design ; Colour saturation ; Brightness ; Sharpness

Picture noise ; Colour tone at times ; Only average black levels

It's certainly not bad, but it's not the plasma-killer we were hoping for

Samsung LA32M51B LCD TV

Samsung's 3,000:1 contrast ratio delivers outstanding shadow details which are unfortunately marred by soft PC text.

Near perfect shadow details ; Sleek and compact design ; Innovatively angled speaker array ; Comprehensive A/V settings ; Intuitive user interfere ; Five-band graphic audio equaliser

Soft PC text at non-optimal resolutions ; Bass-shy audio ; Plastiky remote and chassis ; Pricey

Performance The high contrast worked wonders in resolving shadow details which was near perfect with Avia's greyscale test pattern. Performing equally well was the accurate colour decoder as with the flawless geometry and convergence control....

"Samsung make great LCD tv's"

I don't own this exact model, I own a 26inch version, and I can testify to its picture quality, from HD Xbox360 to old video cassettes. The blacks are also very good for an lcd tv. No complaints with the tv whatsoever bar the headphone jack being...

"Sensational quality."

I shopped around and picked this up at just over $2300 a few months ago. I must say it has exceeded my expectations and combined with a HDSTB produces stunning images. Hooked up to the 6600GT video card at 1360 x 768 the PC text is clear - as long as...

"I just bought one"

considering it's size 3000:1 contrast ratio and an 8ms response time really makes this the best bang for buck in lcd t.v's i use mine pure for games and the picture is so sharp, possibly this monitors best feature is it's colour which makes it...

"The review is right on the money.. almost"

I agree with the review completely, except on one issue... any modern video card should support 1360x768 resolution. Both my 2 year old Nvidia 6800GT (a performance card) and 4+ year old ATi Radeon 9000 (a budget card) can pull it off with no problems....

Samsung LE46M51B

Good value, simple to use.

The feature that dims the screen brightness in low light must be disabled as it interferes with the Sky+ remote and means only 1 out of 10 keypresses actually works.

This TV is excellent all round, design and picture quality are stunning as are included featyres

The only minus point is that the inbuilt speakers are a little on the quiet side, but this is not a real problem for me as it is running through my surround sound amp
