Samsung LE-52 M 86 BD

Below-average picture quality from the Scart-RGB input., Colors look synthetic in some situations., Many of the buttons on the remote are too small and the menu is too intricate

Samsung LE-40 M 87 BD

Pictures from the Scart RGB socket are not as crisp as from other sources., Green hues are marginally exaggerated., The Samsung's sound is quite unexciting and imprecise., Film material with a 24 Hz refresh rate is not correctly interpreted

At the time of testing, the "Super Clear Panel" of this Samsung set produced an outstanding contrast in both light and dark environments. This feature is denigrated, however, through the somewhat clumsy operation and deficient 24p support.

Samsung LE40M86BD/87BD review

An LCD with an impressive 15,000:1 contrast ratio

Strong picture quality ; Impressive black levels ; Good design and connectivity

Motion blur ; Some of the optional features are flawed

Sometimes manufacturers can try too hard. Forget all the fancy features - this is a great LCD without them

Samsung LE40M87BDX

Here's a preface: we liked this TV so much, we bought one. A journalist spending £900 is not something that happens often, but there's a good reason in this case. Firstly, an utterly unbelievable spec, starting with a 15000:1 contrast ratio

Excellent specification, Great price

Standard-def pictures not perfect

A fantastic LCD that takes the format to new levels of quality

Samsung LE46M87BDX

Full HD resolution comes into its own on the LE46M87BDX which is let down only by slightly disappointing colour performance ..

The Samsung LE46M87BDX is going to change consumer perceptions about the benefits of Full HD resolution for the better. Like the rest of the M87 range, the LE46M87BDX is notable in that it has blurred the lines which separate good LCD TVs from good...
