Samsung LN-T71F review: Samsung LN-T71F

Samsung LN-T71F

Solid black-level performance for an LCD; relatively accurate color; 120Hz processing smooths judder in motion; fine screen uniformity for an LCD; extensive range of picture controls; comprehensive connectivity with three HDMI and one PC input;...

Expensive; smooth motion seems unnatural for film-based material and can introduce artifacts; black and near-black areas tend toward blue; shiny screen causes distracting reflections in normal room lighting.

While a few issues hamper its judder-busting video processing, the 120Hz Samsung LN-T4671F is still one of the best-performing LCD HDTVs available.

Samsung LN-T4671F LCD TV

It seems like all LCD TV manufacturers have jumped on the 120Hz bandwagon to address the problem of motion blur, to which LCDs are particularly prone. In implementing 120Hz, which is twice as fast as the rate at which conventional TVs flash frames on...

I’ve been very impressed with all the Samsung displays I’ve reviewed recently, and the LN-T4671F is no exception. Its colors are spot on, detail is sharp and crisp, and blacks are reasonably deep. Shadow detail is only so-so, but that’s the case with...

Samsung LN-T4671F LCD HDTV

The Basics: The 71 Series is Samsung's top-of-the-line offering in the traditional LCD space. By traditional, we mean that the TV uses a CCFL backlight (the higher-end 81 Series uses LED backlighting). This 46-inch, 1080p model features Samsung's Auto...

Samsung LN-T4671F LCD TV

Before I became the editor of UAV, I was the video editor of The Perfect Vision and, after that magazine folded, Playback, an all-digital monthly published by the same company.

Samsung LN-T4671F LCD TV

In my new role here at UAV, one of my primary jobs is to review flat panels, so I decided to revisit the LN-T4671F and take a more in-depth look since it performed quite well overall in my original tests. One of the only drawbacks I identified at that...

UltimateAVmag.com: Samsung LN-T4671F LCD TV

Before I became the editor of UAV, I was the video editor of The Perfect Vision and, after that magazine folded, Playback, an all-digital monthly published by the same company. My final assignment for Playback was a survey of eight LCD TVs, and the...

Razor-sharp detail on HD content, Gorgeous colors, Good shadow detail, capable, Deep, rich, inky blacks, Exceptional color & detail, Excellent shadow detail, Superb video processing, Displays 1080p/24 at 72Hz, ISF calibration modes, Home Media Gallery...

Elevated black level on most real-world content, Menu system could be better organized, 120Hz frame interpolation not the best I've seen, Standard-def content looked a bit softer than I've seen on other HDTVs, Picture controls associated with AV modes,...

All in all, the LN-T4671F is a fine LCD TV. It exhibits exceptional color and detail, the blacks are nice and deep, and the shadow detail is better than most LCDs I've seen. Aside from some processing issues on standard-def DVD, my only other complaint...

Good Job Samsung

I'll buy from Newegg again; Samsung too, for that matter

Great price, excellent service - Newegg delivered on time, on target ; As mentioned, input to input lag is bothersome, but that's a minor quibble

The con actually turned into a pro. Had probs with picture going out a few weeks after purchase. Samsung sent a guy to the house with a new pc board. When that board turned out to be defective, the tech took the time to actually troubleshoot the old...

Great TV, even greater price

I recommend the AIT in-house delivery. This sucker is plenty heavy, and paying the extra $50 gets the box wherever you want it in your house.

The price on Newegg is incredible! The TV makes all the difference when watching shows or games with the 120Hz auto-motion feature. Sound is crisp, video quality is very nice. Plenty of configuration options, and inputs

The box it ships in is huge! Seriously, I haven't had a single complaint yet. No DVI connection for PC, but VGA available

Win/Win

Xtra con: didn't buy from newegg due to their repeated failures during the order process. And a competing retailer had for 100 less + free 5 day shipping, arrived on christmas eve! Oh well for newegg.

This set is amazing. It's main function is theater use, though I run a HTPC off it as well. The swivel is great and the stand is solid because the wife refused to mount it on the wall stating she didn't want cables running from it. So i built a dark...

LAG. From input to input it is horrible. Adjust most settings out of the box with a reputable name calibration DVD. Mated with other samsung devices is horrible. My TV remote turns off both the TV and my HTIB which is annoying. Like everyone else says...

Great Product

1.) I shopped around a lot. I've read a lot of reviews. Quality was very important to me, and as a result of the many reviews that I've read, I came to the conclusion that Sony and Samsung were the most reliable. Samsung had the best value, and the...

1.) Outstanding picture. 2.) Good sound. 3.) Attractive cabinet. 4.) Easy to use remote. 5.) Easy setup. 6.) Lots of features. 7.) Lots of A/V connections on back. 8.) A/V connections on left side too, for easy access. OVERALL: Picture quality is...

1.) PIP mode is somewhat limited. From the manual: "You can view Analog TV broadcasts on the PIP screen when the main picture is from an external device connected to HDMI1, 2, 3, Component1, 2, or PC
