Samsung TU8000 Crystal UHD HDR TV Review: Good design, good enough performance

Samsung makes some lofty promises for its budget-friendly TU8000 television, and it mostly delivers on those expectations.

Attractive, slim bezel design ; Excellent 1080p upscaling ; Good color reproduction ; HDMI eARC support

Aggressive vignette ; Contrast is muddied in complex scenes ; Not especially bright

Samsung 75-Class Q70A QLED TV (QN75Q70AAFXA) Review

Incredibly low input lag ; Useful gaming features ; Balanced colors ; Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support

Panel isn't very bright ; Modest contrast ; Overbearing smart TV interface ; No Dolby Vision

Samsung's Q70A line of TVs doesn't have the most impressive contrast we've seen, but it's by far the fastest in terms of input lag, making it ideal for gamers.

Samsung 55-Class TU8000 Crystal UHD TV (UN55TU8000FXZA) Review

Lots of useful features, including multiple screen mirroring and voice assistant options ; Solid contrast for the price ; Super-low input lag

Mediocre color performance ; Relatively dim panel ; Only three HDMI ports

The Samsung TU8000 series of TVs offers loads of features and a decent picture for an affordable price, though you can get better color and contrast from competing Hisense and TCL models.

The Samsung TU8000 is an entry-level budget TV from Samsung's 2020 lineup, also sold as the Samsung TU8200 at Walmart. Despite lacking a local dimming feature, i...

Remarkably low input lag. Upscales lower-resolution content well. Displays chroma 4:4:4 properly. Fairly quick response time. Remarkable black uniformity. Outstanding contrast ratio. Decent reflection handling.

No local dimming. Fails to display a wide color gamut. Doesn't get very bright. Narrow viewing angles. No advanced gaming features. Noticeable dirty screen effect in the center.

The Samsung TU8000 is a decent TV. Its high contrast ratio produces deep, uniform blacks, so it's great for watching movies in dark rooms. However, it's just decent for watching sports or TV shows in a bright room, as it doesn't get very bright, and it...

Samsung TU8000 TV review

The TU8000 offers decent performance for the money, but does come with limitations.

Sharp, detailed 4K picture Good upscaling Superb smart TV platform Solid motion handling

Limited connectivity Lacks brightness for the best HDR Narrow viewing angles Annoying design

The TU8000 is a good value TV that offers a decent performance for the money, but can’t shake some of the limitations of its more humble spec list. Brightness and colour saturation take a knock compared with Samsung’s pricier QLEDs, but its detailed...

Samsung UE55TU8000 review

Can Samsung top the mid-range for yet another year?

Brilliant HDR picture ; Bags of tonal detail ; Punchy colours

Not particularly bright ; Uninspiring sound

With a performance that far out-muscles anything else at this price, this TV is a real steal

Samsung TU8000 Crystal Series

OK, so this SMART 2021 65" TV does not record. Even my $300.00 buck tiny JVC TV which I bought from BigW does..

Very impressed with the picture and sound quality

Had this tv for a few weeks now and very impressed overall. Looks great on our wall and especially like the ability to have a photo on screen when the tv is not on. We were going to buy an expensive picture but don't need to now.
