Samsung UNKS8000 series: The cheapest SUHD isn't a super value proposition

Samsung's KS8000 has a lot of things going for it, but its image quality is eclipsed by some less expensive sets that perform better.

The Samsung KS8000 has a good picture for bright rooms, accurate color and superb video processing. Samsung incorporates unique devices and smart home control features, tied together with a simple remote and interface. The design is sleek and minimalist.

It's more expensive than some TVs that perform better. It also lacks analog video inputs.

A bright image and plenty of smart extras will help the Samsung KS8000 gain some followers, but its picture falls short of the competition.

The KS8000 series reviewed here is currently Samsung's least-expensive SUHD TV for 2016 , promising improved picture quality over the company's cheaper 4K TVs. In our tests its image was impressive in some ways, but not up to the overall level of some...

The 4k Samsung KS8000 LED is a well rounded UHD TV that delivers a great picture quality. However, its picture deteriorates at an angle. From the front, everything looks colorful and detailed. It handled motion well and input lag was especially low....

Movies and HDR look great. ; Very bright which is good to handle reflections. ; Low input lag which is great for playing video games.

Excellent HDR specs ; Superb peak brightness ; Tizen has improved ; Physically beautiful ; Solid color performance

Weak viewing angles ; No 3D support ; Lacks USB 3.0 ; We’d like full-array LED backlighting

The Bottom Line for the KS8000 is the same as it was in our review of the KS9000. This is an excellent HDR 4K LCD TV, if you haven’t bought such a TV yet, then definitely go for this or the other 2016 SUHD models instead of for their 2015 cousins....

Samsung KS8000 Review

This Samsung KS8000 has among the best picture quality you will find in a TV set. We were impressed with the contrast as well as the vivid picture quality. There are a few others in our lineup that have superior picture KS8000, but for the price point...

This TV has great contrast and good picture quality.

We noticed some haloing around certain objects.

Few TVs have better picture quality than the KS8000, making this affordable Samsung a good value.
