Samsung UNES6500 has nice design, decent performance

Samsung UNES6500 is a well-featured midrange television with good color but otherwise ho-hum picture quality and value.

The ; is a decent performer with excellent design and a good mix of features. Colors are fairly accurate and vibrant. Shadow detail is very good, lending weight and texture to images.

Black levels are not up to par with the model it replaces, and uniformity is fairly bad.

The Samsung UNES6500 is a well-featured midrange television with good color but otherwise ho-hum picture quality and value.

The Samsung ES6500 is a decent performer with excellent design and a good mix of features. Colors are fairly accurate and vibrant. Shadow detail is very good, lending weight and texture to images.

With the Samsung ES6500F series you get spot-on colors, two sets of 3D glasses, and a nice catalog of web apps, but this slender LED-backlit HDTV doesn't get very bright or very black.

Very accurate colors. Attractive, slim cabinet. Generous selection of web apps.

Mediocre blacks. Not very bright. Only three HDMI ports.

With the UN46ES6500 (MSRP $1,729), Samsung is clearly making a statement in terms of design. Its all-black finish and attractive base will immediately garner attention. If TVs were based solely on how they look, this would be a clear recommendation....

Sleek design ; Very good picture quality ; Strong Smart TV platform with a good app selection

The internet browser is nothing special

The Samsung UN46ES6500 (MSRP $1,729) is loaded with great features like Smart TV functionality, 3D, and media sharing via USB, just to name a few. Samsung deserves credit for not only implementing these features, but doing them very well.
