Is Samsung's best 2012 LED TV worth the price?

The UNES8000 packs more features than ever into its ultraslim chassis, but its picture quality falls short of its flagship promise.

The beautifully thin ; seems to have come from a year or two in the future. Its massive feature set includes a touch-pad remote, IR blaster, four pairs of 3D glasses, motion and voice command, and the industry's most capable Smart TV platform. Its...

Lighter black levels and imperfect screen uniformity hamper its picture significantly, especially for such an expensive TV. Samsung charges too much for extra features that are largely unnecessary and poorly implemented.

Although it hits plenty of high points, the Samsung UNES8000 LED TV cannot ultimately justify its high price.

Samsung UN46ES8000F

With its voice- and motion-controlled interface, Samsung's ES8000F series does a lot to advance HDTV design, but some of the new features aren't quite ready for prime time.

Ambitious user interface. Beautiful design. Excellent white and black levels. Accurate color. Comes with 3D glasses.

Voice, motion, and touchpad controls are unreliable. Screen shows significant light bloom on the edges. Only three HDMI ports.

The camera also allows gesture controls from the user. By waving your hand in front of the screen, a cursor appears that you can control with your motions. Making a fist "clicks" the cursor, letting you navigate the menus and Web pages. Like the voice...

Samsung UN55ES8000F 55" SmartTV Review

This is Samsung's latest Smart TV, the UN55ES8000F. This is a rather large upgrade in terms of both the hardware and software. Samsung reduced the bezel to around 1/2" in thickness and updated the OS.

Samsung ES8000 Review [60-inch HDTV]

Samsung ES8000 Review - this article goes over the HDTV ES8000 Series from Samsung through the prism of the 60-inch Samsung UN60ES8000 model. Image quality, SmartTV functions, Skype and designs are among the topics of the review.

The Samsung ES8000 Series is very attractive because of its striking design and large set of seemingly very advanced features, but after using it for a couple of weeks, I fell back to the basics and I liked the TV because the image quality was very...

Samsung UN55ES8000 55-inch Smart TV Review

Samsung's D8000 was our TV of choice back in 2011, and the company is hoping to repeat its success with the new 2012 flagship, the Samsung UN55ES8000 . A 55-inch behemoth, though with strikingly delicate design, the ES8000 ticks just about every box...

Samsung’s ES8000 is a worthy update to its predecessor, and the company demonstrates its edge over much of the competition with the Smart TV functionality. Is it worth the humongous RRP? That’s a null point, given retailers are already discounting it...

Samsung UN55ES8000HDTV

Samsung's ES8000 series is their high-end flagship for 2012, and it shows. The amount of extra features and interfacing options on this TV are quite staggering: a traditional remote, Samsung's new smart remote, and an IR blaster all come in the box....

At its current MSRP of $3799, the Samsung UN55ES8000 might seem overpriced. But there are some things to consider before staking that claim.

Samsung UN46ES8000 46-Inch LED Smart TV Review: A Great Experience I Wish Was Better

“Hi TV, power on,” I say, as if talking to myself. As if wishing aloud that I had telekinesis. I'm alone in TechnoBuffalo's gaming room, staring blankly at my reflection on the TV set. I wait as it warms up and…

Samsung UN55ES8000 LED Smart TV

When you're buying a new TV, you have nothing short of a lot of manufacturers and models to choose from. It's easy to get a fairly basic, good quality TV for under $800, but it's sometimes hard to resist the temptations to look at those models that are...

Excellent performance ; Stunning looks and design ; Voice and motion control abilities ; I like the touchpad remote - it's a great attempt at re-designing the classic remote control ; Smart Hub and apps are great and can help cut out the need for some...

Not a fan of the included 3D glasses, especially for existing eyeglass wearers ; IR Blaster performance was so-so - some unsupported functions on my cable box ; View the discussion thread.blog comments powered by DISQUSback to top ; Start ; Prev ; 1 ;...

The UN55ES8000 doesn't come with a small price tag, running you about $2500, but if you're looking to upgrade your home theatre and want to do it right, then this might just be the TV you're after. The UN55ES8000 has stunning looks and comes loaded...

Samsung UN55ES8000 LED/LCD HDTV

The Samsung UN55E8000 LED HDTV is another active 3D HDTV from the company. But as Adrienne Maxwell found during her review, the UN55E8000 is packed with features and capable of quite a lot.

We're back to the original question: What do you want from your next HDTV? How much do you want it to do? If all you care about is video performance, then you can find other TVs that offer comparable, if not better, all-around performance at a lower...
