bargain LCD

This is a great quality panel clothed in ugly finish. The picture is bright and beautiful at 1080p, but my friends make fun of the wide frame with big logos and poor paint job.

fantastic display quality for the price - The panel looks amazing connected to a nice video card. The media box is a unique way to handle connectivity and updates. It also keeps the panel very slim on the wall

The physical build quality is terrible. The cabinet is scratched and has small areas of poor finish. The paint on the stand is bubbled and textured in large areas. The media box is cheap looking - the metal cover doesn't line up at the front seams. The...

awesome

I've watched 7 hours of tv on this now (in a row) and I find it amazing. it's as good (or better) than and lcd tv I've ever seen. would definitely buy again. Also, the media box comes with two hdmi ports, not one. (at least mine did)

picture is amazing... price. I personally find the external media box extremely handy. much easier than moving the the tv when you need to get to the inputs

paint job is a bit meh when you get inches away and are looking at it

My experience

I bought the TV from newegg and did not pick the combo deal (I just didn't know they could sell the TV without the Media Box, yes that means I got box 1 of 2, without box 2 of 2.) After talking to newegg's customer support I had the media box sent out...

Media box is great for anyone who has multiple inputs that need to be hooked up all the the same time. I am a gamer and love it. I use the tv for my computer monitor and for my video game systems

The box is a must have - Not really a con to me, but I figured it should be posted. The Media box is actually supposed to be sold as part of the TV set. The boxes are actually shipped with a 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 label. However, newegg sells them...

poor quality & support

VERY BAD WORKMANSHIP! RMA is terribly slow too. I had to pay for RMA shipping to them & I would have had to pay a second time if I hadn't fixed it myself. I will never buy this brand again.

Good price at the time of purchase, TV looks & sounds good when it works

I got this in August 2007 and it lasted until December when the picture went out. A few days before that I moved the media box and apparently something was loose inside. Tapping on the box would cause the picture to flicker & stay on for a while at...

What TV?

shop around, They may be better deals.

Well, I haven't been able to turn the darn thing on. Media box was not shipped with the unit. Newegg didn't have it in stock and I was in no mode to pay $599 for one + $799 for the monitor. So I got Newegg to retun the unit and went for the Sceptre 46"...

Media box was not shipped. $599 for media box seperately. Monitor unit looks cheaply made. Newegg reputation has fallen somewhat with me

Does it come with the Media Box?

NewEgg does not even list the Media Box on their site. I have another X42GV-Naga and it is a great TV, but not for the novice. I will buy another one if it comes with the Media Box.

Great TV, but does this come with the Media Box

None

1080p Bliss

I would seriously consider this unit for a visually impaired computer tech. The panel isn't that heavy. My wife and I were able to move it easily.

I comes with most of the cables ha you would need. Media Box in a separate location w/ 6' cables. This moves some heat away from the panel which I like. Removable stand and speakers. VGA input OR DVI-HDMI through supplied cable. Subwoofer out....

No optical sound, not enough inputs. Only 1 HDMI and 1 component. The proprietary cables that connect the panel to the Media Box would require a hefty cable cover, if you were to wall mount the panel. The speakers aren't the best sounding

THANKS NEWEGG!

But here it is now, a beautiful LCD, with no media box! It hasn't even been shipped yet! Thanks Newegg! If you Buy, Make sure you get what you pay for and that they send you everything that is required.

I am sure its beautiful, if only I could watch it

Requires a media box. I read many many reviews, including the one on newegg before deciding to purchase. I read some botched incidents where customers where not aware that the media box was required. But, I was assured that everything would be cool...

Quick Fix for the vertical blue lines / noise issue

When I first hooked everything up the set had a nasty case of blue vertical lines / static that seemed to crop up with random images or colour changes. Freeze frame showed the noise to be related to /something/, but I could never pin down exactly what...

For the price, as many have said, the picture is unbeatable, though only AFTER many hours of tweaking

There are many cons (near useless remote, no buttons for specific sources, hideous customer service, historically unreliable), but if you have the patience to work with it (and possibly have to deal with an RMA- it's pretty frequent to have issues with...

Read before buying!

Picture is excellent, price is extremely reasonable, works great as a computer monitor (gaming, etc)

Be warned--This tv/monitor REQUIRES the accompanying media box to work, you cannot even power on the tv without the media box. And, the media box sucks huge! I have had two boxes suddenly quit working, had to send them back for repair and wait a long...
