Sony Bravia 9 review | Digital Trends

The Sony Bravia 9 tries to bridge the impossible gap between LCD and OLED, and it does a remarkable job — at a remarkable price.

Super-clean picture ; Deep blacks, minimal blooming ; Excellent contrast ; Searing HDR highlights ; Excellent motion handling

Backlight fluctuations visible in dark rooms ; Very expensive

“The best combination of OLED and mini-LED TV picture quality we've seen yet.”

Review: Sony A95L OLED

Move over Samsung. Sony's QD OLED is the prettiest TV we've looked at this year.

Fantastic peak brightness. Excellent shadow detail and contrast. Deep, pure, and refined color reproduction. Striking clarity and realism. Naturalistic skin tones. Hearty and relatively stylish design. Great motion response. Top-tier sound quality....

Just two HDMI 2.1 inputs limits next-gen gaming. Very expensive.

Sony Bravia XR A95L QD-OLED TV review

The Sony Bravia XR A95L is one of the best-performing and most forward-thinking OLED TVs on the market based on our testing. But its approach to brightness may give some pause.

But the A95L’s impressive treatment of HDR color and its seemingly bottomless well of handy features and extras ensure that it belongs alongside the LG G3 and the Samsung S95C as the top TVs of this generation. Whether it should be your first choice...

Sony Bravia XR A95L OLED TV hands-on: The best OLED just got brighter

We go hands-on with new Sony Bravia XR A95L OLED TV, Sony's second-generation QD-OLED TV. Here's what you can expect in terms of design, performance, new features and more.

The Sony Bravia XR A95L OLED TV is following up our current top TV, the Sony A95K. Considering Sony set the bar high for itself, the new A95L's upgrades will need to impress if it wants to claim the top spot in 2023. That said, we won't make an...

Sony XR-65A95L Review

The Sony XR-65A95L TV sees improvements on its predecessor, including a new brighter panel, a tweaked design and additional features.

Subtle, nuanced, and colourful picture ; One of the better TV sound systems ; Improved set of gaming features ; Intuitive smart interface

Expensive ; Black levels lack a little detail ; Feet design is still a little awkward

An excellent 4K TV that’s a more complete version of its predecessor, the Sony A95L produces subtle, nuanced improvements over traditional OLEDs, and features one of the best built-in TV sound systems. It is pricier than the rest of the competition,...

Sony XR-55A95L Review

Sony's current flagship TV builds on the strengths of its Quantum Dot OLED predecessor to deliver another home cinema masterclass.

Stunningly cinematic picture quality ; Attractive but also flexible design ; Warm, detailed and immersive sound

Relatively expensive ; No HDR10+ support ; Doesn’t use the latest QD OLED panel

The 55A95L may not be cheap, but its stellar picture and sound quality make it feel like it’s worth every penny.

Sony Bravia 9 review: a stunning next-gen mini-LED 4K TV that makes a big bet on brightness

Mini-LED mastered

High brightness ; Refined local dimming ; Anti-reflective screen

Pricey ; Only two HDMI 2.1 ports ; No HDR10+ support

The Sony Bravia 9 is a mini-LED TV that manages to outdo its high-end TV competition when it comes to overall brightness. Its excellent local dimming presents strong competition for OLED TVs, and an anti-reflective screen makes it a great option for...

Hands on: Sony Bravia 9 review

First impressions of Sony's big bet on brightness

Thrillingly bright and punchy ; Extremely impressive backlight technology ; Still looks cinematically authentic

65-inch model not coming to the UK ; Still only two HDMI 2.1 sockets ; Can’t quite match OLED for black purity and viewing angles

We will need to wait until we have put a full production model through our rigorous, comparative testing process before delivering a final verdict, but Sony’s super-bright Bravia 9 so far looks like a big step forward for backlit TVs. Will it be enough...

Sony A95L review: TV mastery at work

For pure sound and vision quality the Sony's A95L QD-OLED is a delight – caveated with some design and feature quirks

Super-bright yet even-handed picture quality is stunning ; Incredible sound offsets need for a soundbar ; Dolby Vision Gaming at 4K/120Hz, VRR, ALLM

Feet at outer edges makes for a foolish stand design ; Only two of four slots are HDMI 2.1 standard ; Google TV remains irksome

The Sony A95L delivers stunning quality straight out of the box, beating its key competitors when it comes to sheer picture clarity, overall brightness, and motion processing authenticity. Sure, you'll have to pay more cash to own one and need a...
