Sony jumps into Freesat TV with a feature-laden LCD screen

Superb black levels ; No really obvious image problems ; Copes well with poor-quality sources

Not the most spectacular HD pics ; Can't record Freesat HD channels ; Dearth of content on AppliCast online service

It doesn't feel as if anything has been sacrificed to make way for the satellite tuner as it's evident from the menu system and remote control that Freesat is a bonus feature. This is a stylish and easy-to-use TV that delivers consistently good images...

What do you get when you combine Freesat with a Sony Bravia? The KDL-40W5810, that's what. The ambitious satellite service joins plenty of other digital goodies inside this shiny black beast, and we find out how they all get along in our Sony Bravia...

Great pictures from all sources, a reasonable price and added Freesat goodness

Really didn't like the fact that the Internet based Apps like I-Player, (and those not yet present such as ITV-Player, 4-on-Demand etc) do not update themselves - and there is no way of installing the missing ones). Also no WiFi receiver included.

Love THEATER button ; Setting Easy to use ; Good quality product, rated 7 cause I know there is better. But this very good for what I paid

Can only get BBC i-player. Cannot save programs, would be nice if you could connect to a USB device. Lip-sync with blu-ray player is bad. Delay in sound. Has internet connection but no internet TV - how about a software update for this..
