Sony KDL-40W4500

We didn't think that Sony's flatscreen TVs could get much better, but the 40W4500 has proved us wrong. It's a stunning TV

Awesome contrast and detail levels ; handles motion well ; classy design

Nothing major

Sony Bravia KDL40W4500

The Sony Bravia KDL40W4500 is a competent television at a good price, and while the picture is proficient it has some problems with movement.

Excellent HD pictures ; DLNA support ; Subtle styling

Occasional artefacts even with MotionFlow off ; Poor off-axis

A good, if not great television, the Sony KDL40W4500 puts in a good performance for the money, but rivals such as Samsung offer superior cosmetics and a better picture to boot. Also, be aware that the Sony KDL40W4500 is now coming to the end-of-life,...

Sony KDL 40W4500 LCD TV

The KDL-40W4500 has exhaustive photographic capabilities, with the 6.2 megapixel display really doing justice to your digital snaps and with the option to use the screen as a large digital photo frame, cycling through happy memories.

The other great piece of innovation within the KDL-40W4500 is the fact that it can be connected to your home network and share media that is stored on your PC, provided that you have compatible software and hardware. It is really a media powerhouse...

Sony KDL-40W4500

A great looking and performing TV with the odd minor glitch ..

Take away the minor issue with 'clouding' and Sony would have produced one of the finest LCD TV's available. As it is, with strong performance in all areas the KDL-40W4500 is still worth serious consideration.

Sony KDL40W4500 / KDL40W4500U Review

Although we liked the Sony Bravia W4000 LCD series we tested back in May 2008, we bemoaned the lack of 100Hz technology, user menu white balance control, and proper film mode deinterlacing. The Sony KDL40W4500 LCD TV is blessed with 100Hz Motionflow...

The Sony KDL40W4500 is the logical next step up from the W4000 series, adding a functional 100Hz MCFI system to excellent blacks, accurate colour gamut and almost no input lag (with the appropriate configuration). Had Sony offered white balance...

Sony KDL40W4500U

The Sony KDL40W4500U is an LCD TV with 101cm screen in 1920x1080 resolution. It uses technology that captures clear images in fast movement such as sports and gaming. It also has built-in Dolby Surround and BBE Vive Sound enhancing technology. Users...

Yes, flatscreen tech changes every 20 minutes but this 24p, Full-HD panel is smart and classy enough to truly last you years. Just buy some real speakers. Sony KDL40W4500U is tagged with Sony, LCD and TV. Select a tag (Sony, for example) to find...

A 'gamer' television

At first, I needed to get used to the new format compared to my old CRT tube. After a few weeks, we are finally getting used to it. The look distance is around 3.5 / 4 meters. The installation was very easy and done in an hour. The sound is neither...

Excellent picture quality, there is a game mode

Sony KDL40W4500 HDTV

Sony KDL40W4500 HDTV sports a transparent segment of perspex between the slightly glossy LCD screen and the finely perforated speaker grille. The bezel and (to a lesser extent) the speaker grille are finished in polished black; and the ensemble is...

Sony Bravia KDL40W4500

Pretty much the exact same impressions as slydoggies review below me. The picture is quite impressive but the backlight bleed/ clouding is a really obvious flaw and something I would have thought could have been fixed in previous models. I would be...

good picture (as long as all the lights in the house aren't off...then the clouding comes out to play), nice kinda standard design, price isn't too bad

possibly worst clouding to date on an LCD TV, 'Intelligent HDMI' control system doesn't work with the PS3 for some reason, oddly reflective for a matte LCD, shoddy customer service
