Sony KDL-HX750 review

Last year, we were mightily impressed by Sony's high-end televisions, with models such as the HX929 and the NX720 still some of our favorite LCD TVs. At CES in early 2012, Sony shocked quite a few pundits by only introducing a total of 10 models and in...

The Sony HX750 offers excellent color accuracy for an LCD and will give a decent picture without too much calibration. The feature count is one of the highest of any Sony TV this year. Styling is subdued but elegant, and it's not all about looks,...

The overall picture quality is hampered by light black levels. No 3D glasses are included, which is disappointing for a high-level TV. Compared with the stiff competition, this Sony is too expensive for what you get.

The Sony HX750 series isn't the headliner that you'd expect it to be with a performance that isn't up to the level of the asking price.

Unhappy

Expected better of Sony. Sound board replaced at 2months. At 17months the blank black screen is red. I expected better. Sony repair referred me to a repair shop, would not listen without warranty. I guess I should not expect more.i

Nothing

Month 2 sound board bad, month 17 color board bad, no black, it' red.

"Elegant device, fantastic picture quality."

The SONY is a fantastic TV if being used as computer monitor or as simple monitor for other devices. As "stand alone TV" it is a typical "SONY" in which all good ideas are destroyed or invalidated by "protection" mechanisms. I like my BRAVIA very much...

1. Picture quality even for enthusiasts like myself is fantastic.

1. The multitude of possibilites to adjust, calibrate and tune

1. Picture quality even for enthusiasts like myself is fantastic. 2. 4 HDMI, one SCART, one RGB and one PC input (VGA, all PCs can be connected by the HDMI inlets) 3. NO signal output

1. The multitude of possibilites to adjust, calibrate and tune 2. Electronic manual available only. 3. The so called "network ability" is a bad joke. 4. NO signal output

For under $1,500.00, it's a great value now.

Can't go wrong with this TV now at the moment. Smart and 3D aspects are good but IMO these are ancillary features. You can get Panasonic Plasmas in this price range that will deliver better inky blacks but the difference really isn't all that great and...

Good value at it's current market price.

Non, wish the blacks were a bit better but have to step up at a price jump that is pretty big for LED. You're better off buying a P55VT50 but you'll get that watching from "behind a sheet of glass" feel that I don't like with Plasmas.

I am very happy and satisfied with this TV!

I was looking like crazy for a good deal on these black Friday and there were a few on different sites so I went for this TV. I have to say I do respect Ty Pendlebury's opinion However as an owner of one of these TV's I really cannot see nothing wrong...

Simply Beautiful.

First for Cnet to be compareing this HDTV in their video to Panasonics Plasma's is just not fair because everyone knows that plasma tv's produce blacks that cant be beat...by ANY HDTV! But what the HX750 does do is give you excellent PQ and blacks that...

Beautiful PQ, Deep Blacks, Dynamic Edge LED, 3D Ready, Apps and widgets galore,Beautiful Design, Simply the best LED HDTV made by Sony yet.

None. The reports on some websites that this tv suffers from clouding or light bleeding dont apply at least not to my tv!

Better picture quality than any other LED in its class.

Comparing this TV to the LG LM7600 and the Samsung ES7100, I feel the color accuracy is much better on the HX750. Not only that the motion seemed to be more clear. I also really liked the sound on the Sony better than the other brands, its clear and...

Great picture quality Great internet features. Good price $1799 for 55" competition was more expensive. Good sound for an LED Blacks are deep but not "crushed" Gaming is amazing on this TV. Perfect match for my PS3 and XBOX 360

55 inches is as big as it comes. I would like to see a 70 or 80 inch TV like this. No downloadble apps no 3D glasses.

Unfair comparison of LED SONY with a Plasma Panasonic

Will probably by a 750 in the Fall.

The ST50 is a PLASMA unit and usually are 30 percent cheaper and have better dark contrast. The ST50 is a hotter runner and 2 1/2 thicker. I have an older SONYs (LED) & Panasonic's Plasma, both run well, I would not put the Plasma in the Sun room

I would have liked to have learned how much of an improvement the 750 is over the older EX700 with regard to the picture and the 240HZ but no info there.
