Toshiba 57 inch Television: A more semi-affordable HDTV option.

This is a 16x9 rear project television. You have the projection technology that projects and image on a screen. Picture quality I think my uncle’s statement sums it up. “Projection televisions really have gone a long way.” But ...

Big screen, easy to use, Beautiful picture.

Not bright enough, Susceptible to burn-in.

Starts Good Gets Horribly Bad

This TV is horrible. The built-in speakers are fine sounding, but we never really used them because we bought a surround sound setup. There were many jacks located in the back and one in the front, even though it looks pretty ugly to have wires...

Great sound, many jacks in back for hookups, easy to move

Picture became extremely bad, tech support is HORRIBLE, company is not behind product

Don't buy a Toshiba

I bought mine in may of 2002 for over $2000 and the picture started to shake after 7 months of viewing. The local Authorized repair center said it was the Driver board and Toshiba denied the repair. So I guess my TV will just sit at the repair center...

Looked and sounded great when it worked

Broke in 7 months

The perfect sized HDTV and the best deal in town...

If you're in the market for a widescreen TV but can't or don't want to afford a picture-tube widescreen, you can't afford to miss Toshiba's 42H81. Although it is now discontinued, it is essentially identical to it's predecessor, 42H82 and because of a...

Perfect size, 16:9 widescreen, razor sharp picture and closeout prices

Almost too clear with DVD source, center-channel speaker mode useless

This is my first ever writing a review. Usually i just read them and thats it. So excuse any spellings and grammar errors. When i wanted to buy my first HDTV, i did a week or so of net research and visiting the stores to see the models first hand. ...

excellent fit and finish, lighted remote, great picture and sound, 2 component inputs

no built-in hdtv reciever, to be picky? i would have liked a 3rd component input

Best big screen picture hands down

I had been looking at big screen HD compatible t.v.'s for almost a year.I looked at all the brands and all the different prices ranges. In my opinion the Toshiba picture was by far sharper and more vivid in color....

Huuuuge! Excellent quality picture from such a big screen

Getting out of box and into house can be a chore

Great little HDTV.

For almost three years we have had a nice home theater but were still watching movies on a 13-yr-old 27 inch standard TV. With widescreen DVDs that makes for a very small picture. We bought the Toshiba 42-inch HDTV primarily for watching movies on DVD....

Small size, sharp HDTV picture, decent sound, perfect for smaller rooms.

No place to rest a center speaker on top of TV.

big size and big fun!

The day has come where my 24" RCA has died again and the 30" Sony will move to the bedroom to place the Toshiba 42H81.

Sleek, Big, Clear and Detailed, 16:9, HD Ready, good amount of inputs, parental controls, Touch-Focus

picture can be "blurry if not used to."
