Toshiba 40G300U

The Toshiba 40G300U ($899 MSRP) is a 40-inch LCD television that offers a decent number of features, but seems to fall a little short of the competition. What features there are, however, are useful and well-implemented

This isn't the most attractive TV. It's a little fat in the back, with a stubby stand and a thick bezel. The remote control is a mess of bright, white buttons, but because it's a fully programmable universal remote we can accept the aesthetic...

Toshiba 40G300U

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

The Toshiba 40G300U ($899 MSRP) is not a perfect TV, and not even the best LCD at the same price point (that would probably go to the Samsung LN40C630). It offers surprisingly deep black levels, but we noticed issues with color temperature consistency...

Toshiba 40G300U LCD HDTV Reviewed

Part of Toshiba's 2010 lineup, the G300 Series is a mid-level series that lacks some of the higher-end features found in the company's top-shelf offerings, such as LED backlighting, ClearScan 240Hz, Resolution+, and NET TV. The G300 Series includes...

This TV has a 1080p resolution and will accept 24p sources via its HDMI inputs ; ClearFrame 120Hz technology effectively reduces motion blur, with a separate Film Stabilization mode to address film judder ; LCDs can be very bright, which makes them a...

This TV uses a traditional CCFL backlight, so its black level willlikely not be as deep as you'll find in the better full-array LED-basedLCDs with local dimming ; LCD viewing angles are not as good as you'll find with a plasma TV ; The 40G300U lacks 3D...

The 40G300U doesn't offer all the benefits youget with higher-end Toshiba models, but it is a 1080p display with fourHDMI inputs and the all-important 120Hz technology needed to reducemotion blur in an LCD. Plus, it boasts digital-media perks like...

HDMI issues.

I paid about $580 to my door. You get what you pay for, so other than the cropping issue I'm happy with it.

Its my first LCD tv, so I can't really compare it to anything else. Looks cool. I use it as a second monitor on my computer to watch animae and youtube

Two eggs because I have two problems with it ; The remote sucks. Buttons are hard to press and I can only get the volume to work ; HDMI input from my computer gets cropped down to about 1800x990. Thought it was my video card, but I tried it with a...

Good Television

The TV works as advertised and looks good but, the features that are touted with this TV are not what they're cracked up to be. I would suggest purchasing a media device like the Western Digital Plus or the new Logitech Revue to get a full fledged...

Setup is simple, network connection works great, and HD is High Definition. Very light in weight and looks great when setup

Menus are clunky, the network feature is clunky as well and with my experience only recognizeds .mpg format files. I attempted to factory reset the TV several times and there was an issue with all settings clearing

Glad I bought one!

Purchased a swinging arm bracket for this TV and planning on mounting it on the wall soon. I also plan on purchasing a decent sound system as well so I can get the full effect of explosions without annoying popping sounds.

SWEET picture, great on blu-rays, gaming, and general TV watching. Love the 120Hz screen refresh...its great for everything I use the TV for. I didn't purchase the TV from Newegg, but if I didn't find it new at a better price at a different store, I...

Every so often the picture blanks out for a fraction of a second leaving me to wonder if it was a part of the movie/show/game or the TV its self. Gaming can suck if you do not enable the game mode - this deactivates all the picture-enhancing systems,...

Love it

If you don't have HD Cable or Sat TV, just basic or standard digital coax, and your screen flickers or flashes, there is a setting called ClearCable or something in the multitude of picture settings, it attempts to clear up the picture for the larger...

Great TV. Lots of inputs, TONS of picture settings. Works great from my laptop streaming Netflix through HDMI, run my PC games

Im happy overall

I knocked off an egg only because of the media playback issue. Have not found a solution for it yet.

Great picture ; lots of ways to hookup other toys ; great deal for a 40" 120 Hz LCD

Integrated media player seems to stop working after about 9 mins. regardless of what its playing music, photos, movies. just stops playing and boots boots back to TV mode
